I hope you are all well. It's Wednesday and I'm recovering from a tough night watching the football last night, England 1-0 up, then 1 all, 30 minutes of extra time and then Penalties and we WON!! Woo Hoo, roll on Saturday!! Anyway, enough of that..
Today I wanted to make a different kind of card. I really enjoy making fancy fold cards so thought I would try my hand at making an easel card.
Measurements:-
Smoky Slate Cardstock
1pc - 11" x 4"
1pc - 5 1/2" x 4"
Fresh Fig Cardstock
1pc - 5 1/4" x 3 3/4"
1pc - 3 3/4" x 2"
Whisper White Cardstock
1pc - 5 x 3 1/2"
1pc - 3 1/2" x 1 1/2"
1pc - 2 7/8" x 3 7/8"
Take the smoky slate card stock that measures 11" x 4" and score on the long side a 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".
fold and burnish at the 5 1/2" mark as you would a normal card base. Open the card and fold the 2 3/4" score line towards the centre fold to create this shape
Add adhesive to the right had peak, and place the 5 1/2" x 4" panel of smoky slate to it as you can see below..
Stack two dimensionals directly on top of each other a stick to the back of the 3 3/4" x 2" piece, add two to the front of the piece, and two approx. 2/3" behind. Make sure that when this piece is stuck down, that the section without adhesive is towards the centre of the card, this will give you a little tuck spot for the front panel to stand up and stay in place.
Run the largest stitched circle framelit through the bigshot on smoky slate cardstock and the second largest in whisper white.
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from Icing on the cake in the centre of the small whisper white panel.
Whilst you have the Fresh fig ink out, stamp the line of icing all over the whisper white mat, which will create the interesting background.
Add roses and leaves to the die cut circle, the sentiment piece and also a few of each on a scrap piece of cardstock. The images are created using two step stamping - first ink up the solid image a stamp off before stamping, them come in the 'full' ink and add the detailed stamp. Fussy cut the images you stamped on the scrap cardstock.
Using snail, adhere all you cardstock panels down and then with dimensional add the fussy cut roses and leaves to the centre of the circles.
Here's a list of all the supplies I used today, click on the images to head over to my online store.

I love 'fun folds' too Vickie, I have a card challenge this week to do a 'fun fold' so I might do an easel card because I haven't done one for a while myself either. Not sure what stamp set to use though so I am going to think about that one but definitely an easel card. :O) xx
