Cake Soiree Birthday Pillow Box using Stampin Up Supplies

Good Morning Everyone,

Today my project has been CASE'd from our amazing Stampin Up Annual Catalogue. Which has inspired me to run a mini series of catalogue CASE Projects. The catalogue is a great source of information and technical data on products, but there's so many project samples and it's a great source of inspiration also. This was a super quick and easy project to create, and it only used a handful of scraps and inks.

Take a scrap of  whisper white stamp the flowers and leaves in the colours as above.  Place this piece onto your big shot cutting plate. Line up the dies with the corresponding flowers and leaves  - I don't have a magnetic plate, so I secured them in place with some washi tape. This die set is great as it gives you two of each of the shapes, meaning you can cut multiples at once. I also added a piece of poppy parade with the outline flower die and a piece of granny apple green with the leaves die. And ran these through the big shot in one go...

Run a second piece of whisper white through the big shot with the detailed tag piece and that's all of the cutting done. Remove all the pieces from the dies and poke of all the bits so you have clean pieces.

Take the Happy birthday stamp from the Cake Soiree stamp set. If you look at the original image you will see it is meant to be a cake topper to add to the top of the pretty cake from the stamp set, but with a tiny, non permanent alteration, you can use it as a standalone sentiment. Take a piece of washi tape and place over the long stem the reaches down from the image, ink up as normal, carefully remove the washi tape and stamp.

The pillow box is easy to build, all the hard work has been done for you, all you do is fold the edges over and that is really it.

Wrap the Grapefruit Grove grosgrain ribbon around the pillow box, add the tag you created earlier and the secure with a knot and then tie a bow. Add a dimensional to the bottom of the tag a secure to the box, add all the flowers and leaves using dimensions and glue dots to create dimension.

The original added the artisan pearls, but as I didn't have them, I left this step off.

I hope you enjoyed today's project, and will be tempted to try this yourself.

  1. What a great idea VIckie to CASE all the designs in the SU 2018-19 catalogue; that way we (crafters) can see what each of these looks like. :O)
