Potted Geraniums Awash in Beauty Vertical Flip Front Birthday Card. Fun Fold Friday

 Good Morning Everyone

Happy Friday!! It's Fun Fold Friday and I've created a Vertical Flip Front Card. I've made this fold lots of times in the past in a landscape layout, but thought it would be fun to try a vertical one, and it gave me the opportunity to share this beautiful print from Awash in Beauty DSP.

Measurements

Merry Merlot Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 5 7/8"

1pc - 3" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

scraps

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 3/4" x 4"

1pc - 5 3/4" x 2 7/8"

scrap

Awash in Beauty DSP

1pc - 5 3/4" x 4"

1pc - 5 3/4" x 2 7/8"

fussy cut flowers

-------------------------------------

Take the larger piece of DSP and adhere that to one side of the 4 1/8" x 5 7/8" piece of Merry Merlot card stock.

Glue down a fussy cut flower arrangement along the bottom of the larger piece of Basic White and add this to the back of that Merry Merlot piece.

Fold the remaining piece of Merry Merlot card stock along to score line and burnish well, creating a mini Tent Fold.

Have the fold at the top, then adhere the remaining piece of DSP to the front. Pop another fussy cut flower arrangement along the bottom of the remaining Basic white, trimming off any overhang and stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink. Adhere this to the inside of the mini card.

Place the 4" x 5 7/8" of Merry Merlot in front of you with the DSP facing up, then you need to adhere the 'mini card' to the centre of this. Have the fold line flush with the top and try to get the sides as even as you can.

Bring in your Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out three of the labels using the Geraniums Dies. One in Basic White and two in Merry Merlot.

Stamp the centre in Merry Merlot ink into the centre of the Basic White label, the adhere the two Merry Merlot pieces behind, offsetting them to create a nice border. Due to the design of the label you won't get it even all the way round, but try to replicate how each opposite looks, that will help it look as even as it can be.

Pop some dimensionals onto the back of this label and add it the to top centre of the 'flip front' section.

Wishing you the Happiest of Birthday Lovely Layers Vellum Card. Creative Colour Challenges - #CCC82

 Good Afternoon Everyone

Today I'm sharing the card I have made using this week's Creative Colour Challenges combo which is Pumpkin Pie, Gray Granite & Bermuda Bay - not a usual combo of mine, but I absolutely love it!

I thought using a piece of the leafy Lovely Layers Vellum and  the Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda bay I could create a kind of 'Sunshine through the Glade' effect, adding a couple of dragonflies finishes it off nicely.

Now, here in the UK the size of the Vellum doesn't fit our standard mat sizes as our cards are taller and narrower than the USA, so I used some of the Sun Prints DSP and carefully placed sentiments to balance it out.

what do you think?

Measurements

Gray Granite Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 5" x 3 3/4"

scraps

Sun Prints DSP

1pc - 4" x 5 3/4"

1pc - 1/4" x 5 5/8"

-------------------------------------

Take the Gray Granite Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the DSP layer to the front of the card.

Glue the 1/4" strip of DSP to the right hand side of the Basic White piece and add this to the inside of the card.

load up a blending brush with pumpkin pie ink and create a circle in the centre of the remaining piece of Basic White. Then fill in the rest of the space around it with Bermuda Bay Ink. This piece will sit behind the vellum so you want to get quite a bit of ink onto your card so that the colour really does show through. I kept placing my leafy vellum over the top to make sure that the pumpkin pie ink stayed mainly in the blank space, and the Bermuda Bay covered all the leafs.

Once you are happy with your blending and the vellum on top of the inked card. I placed very very small amounts of liquid glue behind a couple of the leafs to hold it in place and if you are careful then the glue doesn't show through.

Add this panel to the centre of the card front as evenly as you can.

Stamp the sentiments in Pumpkin Pie ink onto some scraps of Basic white and trim. Add these to the top and bottom of your vellum piece, overlapping onto the DSP below.

Finally cut out three Dragonflies in Bermuda Bay card with the Dragonfly punch and cover with wink of Stella.

Add liquid glue to the body of the Dragonflies and add to the card front. Once the glue is dry, lift up the wings slightly.

I hope you enjoyed my card today, if you would like more information on how the challenge works - or have a project you would like to enter - then pop on over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges

Uniquely Artistic Treasured Kindness Thank You Card. Ink Stamp Share CASE the Catty Blog Hop. March 2023

 Good Afternoon Everyone

Today I'm taking part in the Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop and our theme is 'CASE the Catty'.

Your Catalogue is a useful and a great tool for seeing products, prices etc but it is full of samples using the products and there's so much inspiration right along side all the other 'bits'

I took a look through the catalogue and decided to case a sweet card made with the Uniquely Artists stamp set and some subtle DSP. I decided to follow the same layout but use the 2022-24 In Colours for a bolder effect. The sentiment is from Treasured Kindness.

Here's the card I CASED

Measurements

Orchid Oasis Card stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 4" x 4"

1pc - scrap

Parakeet Party Card Stock

2pc - scrap 1" x 4" approx

Sweet Sorbet Card Stock

1pc - scrap

2022-24 In Colour DSP

1pc - 4" x 5 3/4"

-----------------------------

Take the Orchid Oasis Card stock and fold along the score line, adding the basic white piece to the inside.

On the remaining piece of Basic white stamp the outline flowers head image three times in the centre using Orchid Oasis ink, add three leaves in Parakeet Party and then stamp the cluster of dots in 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Parakeet Party.

Take the two strips of Parakeet party card stock and stick these behind the stamped panel at the top and bottom, leaving an even strip of colour.

Adhere this piece to the middle of the DSP and add the whole think to the card front.

On a scrap of Basic White stamp the sentiments in Sweet Sorbet ink, trim and layer to a scrap of Sweet Sorbet card stock. Trim to leave a nice border then add to the card front with dimensionals.
