Lovely in Linen Happy Birthday Angled Tri Fold Card. Fun Fold Friday

 Good Morning Everyone

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a wonderful week and are ready for the weekend.

I'm sharing an Angled Tri-Fold card today for Fun Fold Friday. I first did this fold a few months back and I absolutely love it, and what better way to showcase than with the Lovely in Linen Suite. All to components to the suite are fun, bold patterns and images with a great colour combination - I kinda get a retro 70's vibe with it - which is so much fun to play around with.

This fold looks like it should be complicated to do, but in fact it's super simple. You do need to do some accurate measuring and cutting, but it's worth it.

I opted for a simple sentiment and belly band and the DSP I chose was quite busy and I love how it turned out.

Measurements

Sweet Sorbet Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 11"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 3 1/2" x 5 5/8"

scrap

Night of Navy Card stock

1pc - 1 1/4" x 11 3/4"

scrap

Lovely Linen DSP

2pc - 3 1/2" x 5 5/8"

--------------------------------

Take the Sweet Sorbet card stock and score at 3 5/8" from either side. this just helps make the 'counting' easier and the 'doors' even.

Lay the card stock in front of you and with a ruler and pencil mark on the left hand edge at 1" down from the top. Draw a line, joining the dot with the top of the card at the first score line. Then along the bottom, mark 1" in from the left edge. Draw a line from this dot, to the first dot you marked. Repeat this process for the right hand side and you should have something that looks like this

Line up your pencil lines on the trimmer track and cut, making sure you cut as accurately as possible. If you do leave pencil marks on the card, you can easily rub them out.

You should end up with a piece of card that now is this shape.

Fold and burnish both score lines, bringing each side into the centre.

Take the DSP and repeat the process above for marking and cutting to create your mat layers. Be mindful of how your pattern flows, and also which corners you will be cutting to ensure that the pattern stays the right way up. These two pieces should now fit nicely onto the 'doors' with an even border all the way around. Once these have been glued down, open up the card and add the basic white piece to the centre panel.

On the strip of Night of Navy card stock, stamp the large floral image all over in Night of Navy ink. this image is far too big to fit full in the thin strip but I tried to position it to get as much of the flowers on as possible. Once dry fold this around the card to create your belly band closure. Glue down where the two pieces overlap and trim down.

Stamp the label image in Night of Navy ink onto a scrap of basic white, also add the sentiment and the decorative swirls. Cut out using the Lasting Label punch and position it in the centre of the card front - adhering it down with dimensionals to the belly band, ensuring that the label covers the join.
