Hand Penned Petals Paper Pieced Congratulations Card. Crazy Challenge Insta Hop - September 2022

  Good Morning Everyone,

Today I wanted to share a project I made for the Crazy Challenge Insta Hop in Septemebr. A few people messaged me asking if I had a tutorial - so here it is!

So, with the Crazy Challenge a DSP and Stamp Set are chosen by a random name wheel and we have to use both to create our projects - sometimes they seem random, other combinations work well - like this one. We were given the 2022-2024 In Colour DSP Pack and the Hand Penned Petals Stamp Set.

I decided to do some paper piecing, which is super easy and gives a fabulous result - especially with this paper! What do you think?

Measurements

Parakeet Party Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 2 7/8" x 3 3/4"

Sweet Sorbet Card Stock

1pc - 3" x 3 7/8"

2022-2024 In Colour DSP

Starry Sky

1pc - 4" x 3 3/4"

1pc - 4" x 2"

Parakeet Party

1pc - 2 7/8" x 3 3/4" approx

Sweet Sorbet

1pc - 2 7/8" x 3 3/4" approx

Orchid Oasis

1pc - 2 7/8" x 3 3/4" approx

--------------------------------------------

Take the Parakeet Party card stock and fold along the score line.

Add the Basic White to the inside.

Layer up the two pieces of DSP, placing the thinner piece into the centre.

Pop this onto the card front.

Ink up your floral image and stamp in memento ink - once on each of the remaining pieces of DSP and also into the centre of the Basic White. Also add the sentiment to the Basic White card.

Once all the ink is dry. Take the DSP pieces and cut away at parts of the images. Glue these directly over the same spots on the Basic white piece - I used the Orchid Oasis and Sweet Sorbet images for the flowers and Parakeet Party for the leaves.

It can be a little time consuming and a little fiddly to fussy cut, but just take your time and concentrate on the lines and it will be fine. I found it easier to cut one piece, glue it down and then cut the next piece to try and fit it together. As this image hasn't got a solid outline, I did need to adjust a few bits to make them fit really nice and snug next to each other.

Layer this to the Sweet Sorbet card stock and add to the centre of the card front.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, I did really enjoy making this - this paper piecing technique add something that bit different to my card.

Here's a list of supplies I used in today's project, click on the images to head over to my online store Product List
