Potted Geraniums Stable Door Fold Card. Creative Colour Challenges - #CCC60

 Good Afternoon Everyone

Happy Tuesday!

Today I've sharing my entry for this week's Creative Colour Challenges - I'll be honest I definitely found these colours tricky to work with at first. But I did manage to make a really pretty card that I think works really well. The Potted Geraniums is a two step stamp set, meaning I could use 1st and 2nd generation stamping to get some more shades of the colours.

Measurements

Cajun Craze Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

scrap

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 3 7/8" x 2 5/8"

1pc - 3 7/8" x 2 3/4"

scraps

------------------------------

Take your Cajun Craze card stock and mark at 3" a small pencil dot on the score line, and one at the right hand side, again at 3". Pop this into your trimmer and cut down to the 3" mark on the score line, then rotate the card stock so that the cut line is to your left and cut down to the score line from the 3" pencil mark. This should free up a panel of card stock and leave you a 'stable door' card front. Fold and burnish this piece, keeping the score line to the left as you would a standard card base.

Ink up the solid long leaf in fill stamp from the Uniquely Artistic stamp set in Evening evergreen, then stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper 3 times, then stamp onto the 3 7/8" x 2 5/8" covering the whole piece. Also add this stamping across the top of the larger piece of Basic White.

Add the larger piece of basic white to the inside of your card, and the smaller stamped piece to the front of the 'door'.

On the remaining piece of basic white, stamp the Geranium leaves into the centre - using 1st generation for the detailed stamp and 2nd generation (stamped off once) for the solid image in Evening evergreen ink.

On scraps stamp the flower pot in Cajun Craze and the flowers in Flirty flamingo - again stamping the details in 1st generation and the solid images in 2nd generation.

Cut out the flowers and flower pot - you could use the coordinating dies, or fussy cut.

Layer the basic white panel to the Cajun Craze mat ( the piece you cut away from the card base earlier) and then add the flower pot and flowers with dimensionals.

Add some glue to the lower third of this piece and glue to the 'door' section of the card, making sure you have even edges around and that your glue doesn't go above the join - otherwise you will glue the card shut.

Stamp the sentiment in Flirty Flamingo onto some basic white, trim and then layer to cajun craze card, trim and then add to the card positioning it at the top of the back panel so you can see it both when the card is open and closed.
