Perfectly Pencilled Happy Birthday Card. Stamp n Hop Sketch Chellenge Hop. July 2022.

 Good Morning Everyone

It's a late night / early morning for us here in the UK for the Stamp n Hop Monthly Hop - it's just after Midnight right now.

This month we have a very simple sketch layout to follow - and I kept pretty much to the letter with my card - I wanted to show that simple can be beautiful - and the Perfectly Penciled DSP helped me execute that idea so well. I did use a Hexagon of Vellum, rather than a circle as I liked the sharp lines behind the scripty flowing sentiment and my DSP is cut all to the same size.

So here is the sketch we were given to follow - as you can see I did stick pretty much to the sketch for this one, as It's a pretty great base to work from.

Measurements

Gorgeous Grape Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

Vellum

Scrap

Perfectly Penciled DSP

1pc - 3 3/4" x 5 1/2" ( cut into four - 1 7/8" x 2 3/4")

---------------------------------

Take the Gorgeous Grape Card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the Basic White panel to the inside.

Colour in your piece of DSP in with Highland Heather Blends and then cut down to the size above.

Add these to the card front.

Bring in your Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and cut the largest hexagon from Beautiful Shapes Dies in Vellum. Light sponge the edges with gorgeous Grape ink and set aside to dry.

On scraps of Basic White stamp both Happy & Birthday in Gorgeous Grape ink and fussy cut, layer these onto highland heather and fussy cut again leaving a decent border around the edge. Pop mini dimensionals into the back of these words and add them onto the Vellum Hexagon. Turn the Hexagon over and apply some liquid glue where you see card stock - this will make sure the adhesive that holds it down is not seen.

Add this to the centre of the card.

I hope you liked today's card - please continue through the hop to get lots more inspiration. Jo Blackman is up next - click the button to head on over to see her project
