Good Morning Everyone
Happy Sunday! It's set to be another scorcher here today so I think it may be another day in the Garden - hope you all have some exciting plans for the day!
Today we have our Share it on a Sunday Projects to show you. The theme for this week is the Spotlight Technique. There's so many ways you can do this - either with DSP or stamping, but the idea is to have a relatively simple/Monotone background and the 'spotlight' a section but cutting out a shape of that design or stamping it in a different colour or colouring in a black and white image for instance.
I decided on the stamping and colouring route and what better stamp set to play with than the Pretty Medallions stamp. I absolutely adore this stamp and it's detail.
Measurements
Basic Black Card Stock
1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"
Basic White Card Stock
2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
------------------------------
Take your Basic Black card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.
On the remaining piece of Basic White stamp the large medallion image in memento ink. The image is too large to fit fully on this size card so I stamped as much of it as I could get on! haha. I used my stamparatus for this. The platform really helps line up the stamp and card, and due to the size and detail in the stamp, if you don;t get good ink transfer first time, you can just re-ink and stamp again, knowing that you will be stamping directly over the top in the same place.
Let this piece dry completely, the bring in two of the Hexagon dies from the Beautiful Dies set and position them over the design. I made sure that I left a little space on the smaller hexagon to have my sentiment. Secure these down with a little washi tap and them run through your Cut & Emboss Machine.
Remove the Shapes carefully from the rest of the card.
Then colour the two hexagons, paying attention to the design on your hexagon and how that fits into the full designs.
Bring back your card base and the stamped panel which now has two apertures and adhere to the card front using liquid glue.
Add Dimensionals to the back of the coloured hexagons and add the back into the correct position on the card - make sure you pay attention to the pattern/design and pop the in exactly how they were stamped.
I hope you have enjoyed my card today, please take a look at the links below and see what Donna & Karen have both made today
