Sentimental Swirls Perfectly Penciled For You Gift Box. 3D Thursday

  Good Morning Everyone

It's Thursday and that means the Bird's have a 3D Thursday Share for you. Donna, Karen and myself have all created a project and we will link to each others after we have talked you through our own Hopefully giving you lots of inspiration.

My box today came about in a weird sort of way! But as a fellow crafter, I'm sure you will have done the same at some point too. I was flicking through my DSP trying to work out what I was going to make and I had the piece of DSP that is on the lid of this box as a scrap exactly that size. I looked at it and thought it would look lovely as the focal point and then I designed my whole box around that piece of DSP!

So here's my box that measures 3 1/2" x 3 3/4" x 1 1/2". It's a great size to add in a few little sweet treats to gift away and I think it looks so cute in these colours - soft, pastel tones aren't my usual combo, but I absolutely love this

Measurements

Petal Pink Card Stock

1pc - 11" x 6 1/2"

Highland Heather Card Stock

Basic White Card Stock

scrap

Perfectly Penciled DSP

1pc - 3 1/2" x 3 3/8"

2pc - 3 1/2" x 1 1/4"

2pc - 3 1/4" x 1 1/4"

-------------------------------------------

Take the Petal Pink Card Stock and place it in your Simply Scored. Score as follows:-

Long Side - 1 1/2", 5 1/4", 6 3/4" & 10 1/2"

Short Side - 1 1/2" & 5"

Fold and burnish all the score lines well and then using your snips cut cut up all the score lines releasing the smaller square and rectangular sections. The Square sections will need to be notched into slight to create tabs to stick the sides together. On the right hand side, there's three skinny rectangles running down the edges, remove the top and bottom one, leaving the middle one intact. See below..

Using your Stampin Blends, colour in all the DSP pieces. Then Adhere then to the Petal Pink Card Stock. Take your time and be mindful of how the box comes together to get your positioning just right. Like this...

Add Tear & Tape to all the four square tabs and fold in to create your base.

Next you need to fold in the three rectangular tabs around the lid to close your box, but as it stands the side pieces are too large to fit nicely, so you need to trim them down slightly. Just snip at an angle, starting off with a small section either side and taking away more if you need.I found it easier to do when the box was made up, so you can keep trying to close it as you go, making sure you dont snip away too much. You will also need to take a smidge off the small thin tab at the front.

On a scrap of Basic White stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink and cut out using the smooth oval from the Double Oval Punch, keeping the text to the left hand side. Also cut out a scallop oval in Highland Heather. Layer these two pieces up. Adding a fussy cut bird that has been stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink onto Highland Heather card stock. Add this to the lid using dimensionals.
