Tidings & Trimmings Sweet Stockings Christmas Card. Creative Colour Challenges #CCC12

 Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend - back to the grindstone now though!

There's a brand new combo over on Creative Colour Challenges and it's a good one! I'll be honest, I had to have a right good think over how I was going to proceed with these as it's definitely a different and unusual combo - but I thought it might work as a Christmas Card, and the Vellum Panel add a bit of interest and I love the heat embossed Green sentiment.

------------------------------------

Take the Cinnamon Cider and fold along the score line to create your card base, then add the basic white panel to the inside and the Sweet stockings DSP to the card front.

Add the thin 1/4" Shaded Spruce Card Stock strips around the edges of the Vellum panel. This adds extra interest and gives a framed effect, but it also give you a covered space to add glue to adhere down the vellum panel without having any glue showing.

Make sure all the glue is dry, really dry and then stamp the sentiment onto the vellum panel in Shaded Spruce ink, whilst this is still wet, cover with clear embossing powder and heat set using your heat tool. Stamping directly onto vellum looks good, but it often takes a long time for the ink to dry fully, so adding that layer of Clear embossing powder helps to set it all, and gives a nice shiny finish too. I love this technique, because it means you can have use any colour and you don't need special ink.

Add the Vellum piece to the card front, adding the glue directly under the card stock edging, make sure when you are heat embossing you move your tool constantly and try not to get too much curl in the vellum otherwise it wont sit flat on your card front.

On scraps of Basic white, stamp three stockings from Tidings & Trimmings Stamp Set - one in each Cinnamon Cider, Shaded Spruce & Cherry Cobbler. I fussy cut these out as I didn't want a white border round the edge, but you can if you wish. Add these to the card front with dimensionals.

I think this card turned out really well and with the additional of the vellum panel, just has a bit of a different feel to it.
