Sweets & Treats Happy Birthday Card for National Cupcake Day. Crafty Collaborations Blog Hop.

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm hopping along the Crafty Collaborations this afternoon and our theme is Winter Holiday. There are so many Holidays and National Days between now and the end of the year, that it was decided to do a hop focused on those, as I'm not sure about you, but I have been doing quite a but of Christmas crafting - so it was nice to do something a bit different for this one.

Now, it says Winter Holiday and you automatically would think of a Wintry kind of card - but no, I chose to do the U.S National Cupcake Day which is 15th December. Here in the UK we have it on the 18th October - so I'm going to celebrate it twice! haha. Because you wouldn't send a card wishing someone Happy cupcakes day, then I made mine into a birthday card

Measurements

Daffodil Delight Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - scrap

Melon Mambo Card Stock

1pc - 3 5/8" x 5 3/8"

1pc - scrap

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 1/4" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 5 1/8" x  3 1/2"

--------------------

Take the Daffodil Delight card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, then add the larger piece of Basic White to the inside.

Ink up the cupcake image in memento black ink and cover the other piece of basic white with this image. Also stamp one cupcake onto a piece of scrap.

Once the ink is dry, colour in with a selection of Stampin Blends, I added wink of stella to the cupcake cases for a little bit of interest - unfortunately you can't see it well on the photograph above, but it really does make a difference.

Add this panel the the melon mambo card stock and then add to the centre of the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from Sweet Strawberry stamp set in memento, they layer onto melon mambo and the daffodil delight card stock. I decided to have a border around the top , bottom and right hand side, leaving the left flush and added this flush to the edge of the stamped panel - I just thought this looked a little different.

I fussy cut the lonely cupcake and added it on the sentiment strip with a dimensional.

I hope you enjoyed my project today - please take a look at the list below and continue through the hop to get some inspiration for some more holidays that are coming up.
