Pansy Patch Happy Birthday Card. Crafty Collaborations Scoring Technique Blog Hop. September 2021

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm Blog Hopping this afternoon for Crafty Collaborations Technique Tuesday. This month's technique is scoring and it's so much fun.

I have decided to keep my project pretty simple today, as I wanted to show that with literally a few score lines you can achieve great effects. Here, I have added score lines around the edge of my mat layer, creating a border or edging to frame my focal image and sentiment - and I think it really does look good.

Measurements

Highland Heather Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

Pansy Petals DSP

Fussy Cut Pansies

---------------------------

Create your card base by folding the Highland Heather card stock along the score line, adding one of the basic white pieces to the inside

Place the remaining basic white piece into your Simply Scored board and score at 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" on all four sides. You could use this panel either way - so the score lines are debossed or embossed. I prefer the embossed look for this particular design, but you could switch it up if you prefer.

So, have the basic white in front of you so the score lines created are raised. In the large rectangular centre panel stamp in Gorgeous Grape the Happy Birthday, off to the right at the top and then the other sentiment in the centre along the bottom edge. Add this panel to the card front.

In between the sentiments, add the fussy cut pansies. I stuck the large one down flat and then raised the smaller two on dimensionals.

Colour in Four rhinestones with your Highland Heather blends. In the corners of the basic white, you will see a grid of 9 small square, created when your lines overlapped. Add on rhinestone to the centre square of each grid.

Finally tie a small bow in the black and white gingham ribbon and add to the card front, on the corner of the score lines next to the Happy Birthday sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, and can see how a few score lines can really add something a little extra to your project! Please take a look at the list below and check out lots and lots more inspiration on scoring.
