Penguin Playmates Merry Christmas Card. Share it on a Sunday Sketch Challenge

 Good Morning Everyone,

For today's Share it on a Sunday, we have a sketch layout to follow. This one was taken from Paper Craft Crew who do produce some really interesting designs, and this one is great.

I decided to do a Christmas card and use some of the Fun animals from the Penguin Playmates DSP which is currently FREE with a qualifying spend during Sale-a Bration. I absolutely love the guys and the designs are fabulous in this non traditional colour combination.

Here's the layout that was chosen to create from.....

Measurements

Fresh Freesia Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 3/4" x 6" approx

Penguin Playmates DSP

1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

1pc 4 1/8" wide x 4" approx

Selection of fussy cut animals

------------------------------------

Take the piece of Fresh Freesia card stock and fold along the score line, adding the larger piece of basic white to the inside and the larger piece of DSP to the card front.

Place the smaller piece of DSP into your trimmer and cut on a diagonal. I didn't measure this, and you will see I have a steeper line than the sketch but it really doesn't matter.  You just need to make sure you cut this line across the longer length.

Run a length of the open weave ribbon along this piece of DSP, making sure you follow the diagonal line of the edge and have an even increment all the way down it - secure this at the back with a small amount of tape. Glue this to your card front, making sure it lines up flush to either side and the bottom edge of the card front. Tie a bow with the same ribbon and add on top of the other piece of ribbon with a glue dot - I found this the easiest and less stressful way of doing this haha!!

On the thin strip of Basic White, stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy in the centre. Adhere this to the card front flush above the diagonal cut of DSP. Trim the edges.

Finally, fussy cut some of the animals from the DSP and add to the card front with dimensionals.

I hope you liked my take on the sketch, head over to see what Donna & Karen have both made following the same sketch
