In Symmetry 'Hey Friend!' Greeting Card. Smithy's Crafty Stamping Club September Challenge.

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are well, today I'm taking part in a Sketch Challenge over on Smithy's Crafty Stamping Club. Tricia is a fellow team mate and a fabulous crafter! I try to get involved in different challenges as and when I can, and when I saw this one I knew I wanted to give it a go - mainly because I don't have any circle dies or punches - this would definitely be a challenge.

I decided that these two images from the In Symmetry stamp set would be the closest things I could get to a circle, so off I went. I'm really happy with the results, a little bit out of the box but what do you think?

Here's the sketch layout that Tricia had set within the group.

Measurements

Magenta Madness Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 1 1 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - scrap

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

----------------------------------

Take the Magenta Madness Card Stock and fold along the score line, adding one of the basic white pieces to the inside.

On the other piece of Basic White stamp the whole piece with the two round images from the In Symmetry stamp set. I used Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and Magenta Madness. Once Dry, add to the Card front.

Ink up the larger flower in Gorgeous Grape ink and stamp onto a scrap of basic white, ink it up again and stamp it as a mirron image, so that it kind of creates a full flower - due to the shape of the stamp it won't be perfect but get it as close as you can and we actually cover the centre up later anyway, so you can't really tell. Fussy cut.

Adhere this to a scrap of Magenta Madness and fussy cut, making sure you leave a nice even(ish) border all around. Pop dimensionals on the back and add to the centre of the card front.

Finally on a strip of basic white, stamp the sentiment in Granny Apple Green and trim down if needs be. To get the banner tails - pop the end into your tailore tag punch so that the strip sits by the top point - make sure it;s central and then punch, this will give you an even banner tail (as long as you got it pretty central). Repeat this for the other end and then place this into the centre of the large flower you create.

Here's a list of the supplies I used in today's card. Click on the images to head over to my online store. Product List
