Sweets & Treats Biggest Wish Happy Birthday Card. Crafty Collaborations Watercolour Pencil Blog Hop. September 2021

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm taking part in the Crafty Collaborations Watercolour Pencil Blog Hop. I have my watercolour pencils for what seems like forever, but since the Stampin Blends appeared I seem to have but these to the back of the shelf, and sadly forgotten to use them as much as they deserve.

You can create some absolutely amazing effects with Pencils, and you will definitely see a lot today as you continue through the hop, but I wanted to go back to basics and I have literally just used my Pencils to colour in. I remember when I first looked around for some things to create using pencils and I felt a bit overwhelmed so my thought today was to strip it right back. What do you think?

Measurements

Crumb Cake Card Stock

1pc  - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

Vellum Card Stock

2pc - 1 1/4" x 11 3/4"

Take your crumb cake card stock and fold along the score line, add one of the basic white pieces to the inside of the card.

On the remaining piece of Basic White stamp the images all over using memento black ink. Once dry - take a pack of watercolour pencils and colour in all the images. I have applied some shading to the images but only very basically.

On the strips of Vellum stamp the Sentiments Happy and Birthday (on onto each) into the centre of the strips in stazon and leave to dry. Once dry lay these strips over the coloured panel and decided on your positioning. When you are happy, fold the excess round to the back, making sure the fold is tight against the edge of the card, trim and secure down onto the back with a bit of tape.

Add this panel to the card front and job done! The vellum acts as a perfect place to hold the sentiment, whilst not fully blocking out any of your work below!

I hope you liked today's card, I really enjoyed creating it! Please take a look at the list below and continue through the hop, there's tonnes of inspiration here for projects with Watercolour Pencils

  1. love it! and so glad you used this set - I'm just starting to work with it! I think pencils is a great idea - I coloured the pie with blends but didn't really love the result I got.
