It's another miserable day here in Huddersfield, so we went out to grab a bit of shopping but the home straight away to dry off!! This afternoon is to be spent watching films, and playing with the baby in the comfort of the front room!!
Today, I have used the Follow your Art DSP to decorate a tall thin gift box with holds 3 fancy biros.
Measurements
Calypso Coral Cardstock
1pc - 8" x 4"
1pc - scrap for tag
Whisper White Cardstock
1pc - scrap for tag
Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper
2pc - 1 1/8" x 5 7/8"
2pc - 3/8" x 5 7/8"
Score your Calypso Coral Cardstock on the long side at 1/2", 1", 7" & 7 1/2" and then on the short side at 1/2", 1 3/4", 2 1/4" & 3 1/2". Fold and burnish the score lines well and you will have a piece that looks like this
Take your snips and start cutting away some sections. Starting on the left hand side, take away the two small squares on the top row and slightly notch into the rectangle. Cut along the score lines on the next squares down, remove the outer square and notch into the remaining squares. Repeat this process for the last row of squares, then remove both of the thin rectangles in between both of these tabs. Do exactly the same to the right side and you will be left with a piece of card that is like this...
Round the corners of the two outermost rectangles, as above. Run tear and tape along the top rectangular tab you have created and add the DSP panels to the following sections, and add a small notch to the panel that will be the front.
Adhere the tab to the opposite side of the card and fold in the sides and ends to create the box.
To decorate, cut the small tag from the bouquet bunch diesin both calypso coral and whisper white. Stamp the sentiment onto the white and sponge with calypso coral ink and layer on the other tag. Thread some bakers twine through the holes and tie in a bow then add to the box.
