Free as a Bird Vintage Inspired Birthday Wishes Card. Stamping INKspirations Embossing Blog Hop. March 2022

 Good Evening Everyone

I hope you have all had a wonderful Saturday - My day has been filled with bits and bobs & this and that so not overly exciting. Although by the time this card goes live I should have been in my craft room for a while working on some brilliant projects. Let's see how that pans out!

This Month's Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop theme is EMBOSSING. something I absolutely LOVE to do. Whether it Dry Embossing or Heat Embossing - they are both fabulous ways to add something a little extra to your project. I have used both these techniques in my card today - I hope you like it.

Measurements

Early Espresso Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

scrap

Soft Suede Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

Very Vanilla Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

Layering Designs Vellum

1pc - 1 1/4" x 6" approx

----------------------------------

Take the Early Espresso Card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base and add the larger piece of Very Vanilla to the inside.

Bring in your Cut & Emboss Machine and the Painted Texture embossing folder and create your 'sandwich' with the of Soft Suede Card Stock inside the embossing folder.

Run the Sandwich through the machine and then take the Soft Suede from the folder. Very gently and light run your versamark pad over the card, a light touch will ensure that the ink stays mainly on the embossed areas, but it's not too much of an issue if you add some to the flatter areas, but you want to try keep it to the raised areas as much as you can.

Cover the ink with gold embossing powder so all the ink is fully covered and gently tap the back of the card to remove any excess loose powder.

With your heat tool nice and hot, hover over the powder to melt it. Continually move the heat tool back and forth to prevent burning or excessive warping of the card. Do this all over the card until all the powder is now shiny and smooth. Pop this to one side.

On scraps of Very Vanilla stamp the flower image in versamark ink and repeat the process above to create three flowers.Once cooled, fussy cut

Also gold heat emboss the Birthday Wishes Sentiment from Garden Birdhouses onto a scrap of Early Espresso. Cut out with the smooth oval from the Double Oval Punch once cooled. Whilst you have the punch to hand, cut out a scallop oval in Very Vanilla and gently ink the edges with Early Espresso Ink. Layer these together.

Take a sponge/dauber or Blending Brush and add some Early Espresso ink to the strip of Vellum - I found that un-inked, it looked a little stark so the brown ink helps tone that down and tie in with the vintage style.

Stamp the Birds on the branch image in Early Espresso Ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla and once the ink has fully dried colour in with brown toned Stampin Blends then Fussy Cut.

Now it's time to build the card.

Wrap the vellum strip around the soft suede card stock, as this is longer than your panel, fold the ends over and secure tightly on the back. Your vellum is going to be a little loose on the panel now, but there's no adhesive on the front to show through. Don't worry that's normal - and we will 'anchor' it down shortly.  Add this to the card front.

Pop dimensionals on to the back of the Birds on the Branch image and decided where it will go, then add a small amount of liquid glue under the vellum to stick that bit down where the birds will cover it. Add the bird image.

Tuck one of the embossed flowers behind the bird image, again adding the tiniest amount of liquid glue under the vellum where it will sit.

Place the Birthday Wishes sentiment piece close to the flower overlapping onto the vellum - you know the drill - add some glue underneath the vellum.

Finally Adding the other two flowers to the right hand side.

I hope you enjoyed today's card, and will be tempted to create some projects using these techniques, please continue through the hop to get even more amazing inspiration from all these talented creators. 8. Very very nice card! I like the vellum mix and the two embossing techniques. Gold brings a lot of elegance to Soft Suede and the Plaster wall folder works very well with it. This card is beautiful!
