Good Afternoon Everyone
Today is Technique Tueday with the Craft Collaborations crew and we are focusing on Vintage Techniques. I wouldn't profess to be very good at Vintage and it's really not a style that I do very often, but I have a few tips that help me get into the swing of that feel of card style.
- I always find that Brown and Cream tones work well to create a vintage aged feel, also ripped edges and lots of sponging, again with the darker brown tones really helps.
- In this particular project the Brass Elements work well - but soft gold also is good to add.
-Scripty text or writing can also look quite aged and vintage - like excerpts from old hand written letters and books
All these together helped me create my card today, and do you know what - I'm actually really chuffed with how it turned out

----------------------------------------------
Fold you Early Espresso Card stock along the score line to create your card base. Lightly sponge to the edges of one of the very vanilla pieces and adhere to the inside of the card.
Take the other piece of Very Vanilla and stamp the double flower image in Early Espresso ink all over it, creating a full background. Once the ink is fully dry, colour in with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake blends.
Very Gently rip the right hand edge of the crumb cake, trying to keep a relatively straight line. Sponge the edges lightly with early espresso ink.
Add Early Espresso ink to the vellum strip using a sponge or blending brush. Once covered and dry, gently rip both sides, again trying to keep a straight ish line.
Layer the vellum to the crumb cake, and then add this to the floral background mat. Line up the straight left edges.
Add this whole panel to the card front.
Take a Cinnamon Cider Doily and add some of the early espresso ink, only lightly - but this helps tone down and soften the colour slightly, making it fit a bit better with the colour combo I had chosen.
Stamp the Bird on a branch image onto a scrap of very vanilla in Early Espresso ink, once dry colour with the same selection of blends as above. Fussy cut and adhere to the Doily. Place this Doily onto the card front with dimensionals towards the bottom.
On another scrap of very vanilla, stamp the sentiment and ink the edges - but this time take the edges of the card and tap it very lightly directly into the ink pad. This will give the card a dark edge and an illusion of a very thin mat layer, without additional card stock. Add this above the doily on the card front.
Finally add some of the Brushed Brass Butterflies, which I think just finish the card off perfectly.
