Celebrate with Friends Best Friends Forever Scrappy Strip Technique. Creative Colour Challenges #CCC21

 Good Morning Everyone

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. It's time to share a brand new colour combo for this week's Creative Colour Challenges blog.

I think this mix is so lovely, bright and bold and I really enjoyed creating this card for today.

The background was made using the scrappy strip technique from Kylie Bertucci. It's such a simple technique, but adds a little bit more interest to the card. I wanted to keep this as simple as I could, as I thought it looked really striking.

-----------------------------------------

Take the larger piece of basic black card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the Basic white piece to the inside.

Bring in your trimmer and your scraps of Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight and cut the strips diagonally but don't create a sharp point at either end. Like this

Once you have a selection of different width strips in these three colours. Adhere them down to the remaining piece of basic black card stock. I went for a pattern, repeating the colours along the length, but you could do them randomly, or with a lot of other colours too if you would prefer. Take a strip and line it up with the edge of the basic black card to start, then add the other strips lining then up with the last strip placed, leaving a small black space in between. Make sure you pay attention to the thicker and thinner ends and place one one way and then the other opposite, that will help you keep a relatively straight line along you mat layer.

Once dry, trim off the edges and add to the card front.

On scraps of basic black card stock stamp the sentiments in versamark and heat set with white embossing powder. Once cooled fussy cut and add the the centre of the card front with black mini dimensionals.
