Whimsy & Wonder Season's Greetings Bookbinding Fold Christmas Card. Stampin Birds Blog Hop August 2021

 Good Morning Everyone,

EEEKK, it's the last Saturday of the month and that means it's the Stampin Bird's Showcase Blog Hop!

As usual, we don't have a set theme - so we just get to show you a mix of ideas that we have been creating.

I've been trying to make a Christmas card at least once a week at the minute. I've made some designs which will be great to replicate and batch make later on in the year, and some are a little more special - Like the card for today! It's a fabulous Bookbinding fold, which has to be the easiest  fold there is, and I get to show off lots of the beautiful Whimsy & Wonder DSP

Measurements

Misty Moonlight Card Stock

1pc - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"

1pc - 2" x 2"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 2 7/8" x 5 5/8"

1pc - 1 7/8" x 1 7/8"

Whimsy & Wonder DSP

1pc - 7/8" x 5 3/4"

1pc - 3" x 5 3/4"

1pc - 3" x 5 5/8"

Fussy cut presents

Take the Misty Moonlight cardstock and score at 4 1/8" and 5 1/8". Fold the cardstock in half as you would normally to create a card base, but then fold the front piece back on itself. The smaller piece will get glued down against the back piece to make the book bind element

Adhere the DSP layers to the front the spine and add the DSP on top. Add the remaining piece of DSP to the inside, and place the smaller piece of Basic white into the back give you somewhere to write your message.

Wrap the ribbon around the spine piece and secure down with a little adhesive so that when you adhere the two sections together, the ribbon will be trapped between the layers.

Add some glue to the back of the 'spine' piece and adhere down - just this thin 1" section.

Now for the tiniest bit of Stamping!!! Take the two sentiment stamps and add these to the 2" square, but hold it as a diamond. Add the stamping as High up towards the point as you can. Layer this up to the Misty Moonlight and add to the centre of the card front 'flap'. making sure that you don't have it go over towards the left too much.

Finally add the fussy cut presents below the sentiment

I hope you enjoyed today's card, please click the next button and continue through the hop. Next up is Donna
