Sorry I Missed Your Birthday Speckled Background Greeting Card

Good morning everyone,

It's Friday, It's been a very strange week hasn't it! Luckily we are all well and so are our nearest and dearest, I hope all yours are too. Dave is now home working full time, so I'll be honest I'm struggling to get into the craft room as often as I would like, but I will get the balance back in time. I'd prefer him home if truth be told.

Anyways, with everyone having a lot on their minds, we may forget a birthday or two. So I have designed this simple but effect belated birthday card. The background is full of tiny speckles bursting with blue and green tones. Keep reading to find out how I created this....

Measurements

Night of Navy cardstock
1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Whisper White Cardstock
1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
1pc - 5 1/4" x 3 3/4"
1pc - 1" x 2 7/8"

Silver Foil
1pc - 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"
1pc - 1/4" x 2 7/8".

Take the piece of whisperwhite that measures 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" and lay it down on a surface that you can get messy! I used my glass mat so I could easily wipe it. To do this technique, you need to gently squeeze you ink pads, so that some of the ink transfers from the pad to the lid. I did this for all of them before I started.

Lift the ink from the lid using an aqua painter, then tap the aqua painted over a pen or pencil. This will cause specks of ink to fall and sit on your paper. Your specks will change depending on the distance away from the cardstock. I repeated this process using Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy ink.

Once this has dried, I stamped the Sorry in night of navy ink, just above centre.

On the smaller piece of whisper white, stamp the sentiment towards the top, then run the strip of silver foil along the bottom. Add this under the Sorry.

Layer this onto the silver foil, then add this to the card base, created feom folding the night of navy cardstock along the score line. Finally add the remaining piece of whisper white to the inside.

Here's a list of all the supplies I used in today's card, click on the images to head over to my online store.
