Today we have another instalment of Share it on a Sunday and this, I will admit, hasn't been my favourite so far. But I did it and I'm actually really happy with how it turned out.
Donna picked this week's theme and decided we were to make a 3D project using a piece of 6"x6" piece of paper ir cardstock. I have made this sweet little gift box from the Mosaic Mood DSP and decorated with this lovely oversized hummingbird. Final dimensions 1 3/8" x 1 3/8"x 2 3/4".
I'll run through my project for you, incase you wish to recreate it and then I will link to Taffy Crafting and Crafty Karen Designs so you can see what they both made.
Measurements
Mosaic Mood Speciality DSP
1pc - 6" x 6"
1pc - fussy cut hummingbird
Scraps of whisper white and soft suede cardstock.
Take the mosaic mood DSP and score as follows
1st side - 1 3/8", 2 3/4", 4 1/8" & 5 1/2"
2nd side - 1 3/8, 4 1/8" & 5 1/2"
Make sure if your paper has a direction, you need to score on the first side with the direction the correct way, then turn the paper 90degrees clockwise, so your patter is pointed to the right before you score the second side.
Fold and burnish all the score lines well with a bone folder and cut away so you are left with a shape like this
Add a thumb notch using your 1" circle punch and slight taper the edges of the tiny tab at the top.
Run tear and tape along the tab on the right hand side and fold round to adhere to the opposite side. Fold in the sides, back and stick to front sections down at the bottom to create the vase, then fold over the lid to close the box.
Stick the fussy cut hummingbird onto the front of the box using dimensionals.
Finally stamp the for you sentiment from A Wish For Everything stamp set in soft suede ink onto the scrap of whisper white and then layer onto a scrap of soft suede. Add this to the front of the box, just under the hummingbird.
