Good Afternoon Everyone
I'm hopping with the fabulous Ink Stamp Share ladies today and we have a sketch layout to follow. Sketches are such a great tool to help guide your creative thoughts and help pick up that mojo if you find it lacking.
The Sketch chosen for today is a great one and gives lots of scope for so may different designs and styles.
I decided to crack out the In Symmetry stamp set and the Sweet Symmetry DSP for this card, what do you think?
Measurements
Just Jade Card Stock
1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"
2pc - 1/4" x 3 7/8"
Basic White Card Stock
1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
scraps
Sweet Symmetry DSP
1pc - 5 5/8"x 3 7/8"
---------------------------------
Take the Just Jade card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, then add the basic white piece to the inside.
Looking at the sketch, it has three 'panels' across the background. Now I decided to use a 'cheat's' way - I `knew I wanted to use the same DSP running across the three panels so instead of spending time confusing my brain to work out measurements that work I did it this way.
Take the DSP and score very lightly 1 1/4" in from either side. Make sure it's super light so that you have a straight line but the paper doesn't bend, you could make it out with a rule and pencil - but this was quick and easy and made sure my line was really straight.
Now take 1/4" strips of Just Jade card stock and add over the line you created, trying to make sure that it stays straight and is central over the line you made
All you need to do now is add this to the card front.
On scraps of basic white stamp the leaves in Just Jade and small flower in bumblebee. to create the larger flower, take the image and ink it up in Flirty Flamingo once, then ink again and stamp it opposite the first creating a full flower head. Fussy cut all these elements and then add to the card in a cluster in the lower right hand corner. I used a mix of liquid glue and dimensionals to get some height and create different levels.
Stamp the sentiment in Night of Navy ink, trim and banner tail and add to the card.
Finally, tie a bow with the denim ribbon, trim the tails and then add with a glue dot to the card front and place an iridescent rhinestone into the centre of the flower.
I hope you enjoyed today's project, please take a look at the list below and continue through the hop - there will be lots of inspiration to be had.
