Good Morning Everyone
Happy Monday, I hope you all had a fabulous Weekend?
As It's Monday, I wanted to share the brand new colour combination for this week's Creative Colour Challenges. This one took a lot of thinking about, I'll tell ya - but I decided on just using minimal amounts of the Cajun Craze and the Basic Gray - and, well I think it turned out quite well.
I decided to create an open top box, a cover the goodies with some decorated tissue paper to make it a little bit different than a normal gift box. the final measurements are 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 4 3/4", what do you think?
Measurements
Flirty Flamingo Card Stock
1pc - 7" x 9 1/2"
scrap
Cajun Craze Card Stock
4pc - 2" x 4 1/2"
Very Vanilla Card Stock
4pc - 1 7/8" x 4 3/8"
--------------------------------------
Firstly, stamp the flower image in Basic Gray into the centre of all the Very Vanilla Pieces. It doesn't fit fully on the width, so you a tiny bit of stamping over the edge. Once dry colour the flowers with your Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends. Use your blender pen and some ink from your Basic Gray ink pad to colour the leaves.
Layer these to the Cajun Craze Card Stock pieces.
Take the Flirty Flamingo Card Stock and score as follows:-
Long Side - 1/2", 2 3/4", 5" & 7 1/4"
Short Side - 4 3/4"
Fold and burnish all the score lines well. Then hold the card stock on the long side and cut up all the score lines along the bottom. very carefully cut away the bumpy bit from the score line making sure you don't take away too much card stock, just a thin slither to remove that bump. The remove the small skinny rectangle and notch into the long thin at the top and bottom to create a tab.
You should have a piece that now looks like this
INSERT
Now add the 4 stamped panels to the four rectangular spaces on the Flirty Flamingo Card Stock you have just score and cut.
Add Tear & Tape to the long thin notched strip, fold round and adhere to the other side. At the bottom, fold the sides and back pieces in and adhere down the front piece.
On scraps of flirty flamingo scraps stamp two of the larger flowers and one small one in Cajun Craze ink, then cut out using the Flowers & Leaves punch. Layer these together and add a small dot of glue into the centre to hold then together but not to glue them fully down. Once the glue has dried, hold the centre then gently tease up the sides of the petals to get a small amount of dimension.
Add this flower to the panel on the front of the box, covering the larger flower. Pop a Rhinestone into the centre of the flower head.
Finally, stamp the sentiment from Wild Cats onto a scrap of Flirty Flamingo card stock in Cajun Craze Ink, trim down and add banner tails. Pop mini dimensionals onto the back and add to the front of the box.
Stamp the flowers in basic gray onto a couple of small pieces of tissue paper, fill your box with goodies and the add the tissue paper to the top.
