From the Heart Petal Palette Card

Good Morning Everyone,

Today I have a lovely card using the Petal Palette stamp set and coordinating thinlits. These first came out in last years Spring summer catalogue and luckily carried over into the Annual catalogue - which I was so happy about because it's beautiful. Now, this isn't a quick card, it's doesn't have a small supply list - but boy, it's worth it, well I think so....

Measurements:-

Early Espresso Cardstock
1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

Whisper White cardstock
2pc - 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Scraps for sentiment, bird & flowers.

Gold Foil & Vellum Scraps

Create your card base by folding and burnishing the early espresso cardstock.  In Crumb Cake stamp to small floral image into on piece of the whisper white. Sponge the edges of this with early espresso, also sponge the edges of the remaining piece. Add the plain sponged piece to the inside of the card and the stamped background piece to the front.
Rub your embossing buddy over the scraps of whisper white the stamp the large floral image and the bird with versamark ink. Cover with gold embossing powder and gently tap off the excess. Heat set the powder, so it ends up smooth and shiny.

Once cooled, very carefully colour in the images with the watercolour pencils. You have to be really careful as you don't want to knock off the embossing. Use the blender pens to soften out the colour and remove any sharp pencil lines.

Run these images through the big shot to cut out the shapes. Also, cut the leaves in gold and vellum and also the fancy banner in whisper white. Cut out the detailed strip in gold foil. Sponge the edges of the vellum with early espresso.

Arrange the pieces onto the card and adhere with snail and dimensionals.

Finally add the sentiment onto the banner and then add this to the front of the card.

I told you it may take a while, but sometimes you just need to do all this to create the perfect card.

Here's a list of all the supplies I used today, click on the images to head over to my online store.
