Brushed Bouquet Thanks Card using the Joseph's Coat Technique. Creative Colour Challenges - #CCC76

 Good Afternoon Everyone

Today I'm sharing a card I have made for this week's Creative Colour Challenges. The colours are Pool Party, Sweet Sorbet & Parakeet Party - a really nice bright and fresh mix. I decided to try out the Joseph's Coat Techinque. I haven't wanted to try this for ages, but somehow never got round to it. It's pretty simple to do, although it does have  a few steps, and looks really striking! What do you think?

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - 1" strip

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 4" x 3 3/4"

1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

1pc - 1 1/16" strip

-------------------------------------------

Take the larger piece of Basic Black and fold along the score line to create your card base, adding one of the larger Basic White pieces to the inside.

Using Blending Brushes and all three of the colours, cover the 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" piece of Basic White. It doesn't really matter how this looks - it doesn't have to be perfect as you honestly wont see much of it other than in the flowers. I kinda split my card into 6 and did two rows of three blocks of colours, adding quite a bit of ink to give a good deep colour. Leave this to dry completely, you could use your heat tool to make sure.

Now ink up the two flowers from Brushed Bouquet stamp set in Versamark ink and stamp randomly all over the panel.

Sprinkle with Clear embossing powder and heat set with your heat tool, making sure you have fully melted all the powder.

Once this has cooled, take your memento ink pad and add ink ALL OVER this piece. I actually took my ink pad to the card and swiped it across it to give a really good think coverage of the black. When you are happy that it's all covered (do bear in mind that there will be resistance over the embossed areas), take a dry cloth or some kitchen paper and wipe over the flowers making sure you remove any ink that is sitting over them.

On the 1" strip of Basic Black stamp the sentiment from Biggest Wish stamp sent in Versamark ink and heat set with White embossing powder. Layer this to the strip of basic white and then adhere to the ink panel. I added mine across the top left of the panel, as it covered up a bit of a boo boo - but I actually think it works well and lets you see a lot more of the images. Trim any overhanging edges.

Layer this to the last piece of Basic White  and add to the card front.

I hoep you have enjoyed my card today - I absolutely loved making it. If you would like more information on how the challenge works, or have a project to enter - please pop on over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges
