Spring Theme Cottage Rose Happy Birthday Card - Stamp n Hop Blog Hop September 2022

 Good Morning Everyone

Today I'm Blog Hopping with the fabulous Stamp N Hop ladies and our theme is Spring/Autumn - Sounds a bit of an odd mix but we have participants from all around the world and depending on where in the world you are the upcoming season is Spring or Autumn. Here in the UK we are gearing up for Autumn, but I just feel i'm not ready to start thinking of those cooler shorter days just yet, so I've created a sweet Birthday Card with the Spring theme in mind.

Using the Cottage Garden stamp set and my water colour pencils, I made some lovely pinky roses and the embossed floral background adds some gentle texture.

Measurements

Gray Granite Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

Abigail Rose DSP

1pc - 4 1/4" x 2 1/2"

1pc - 5 5/8" x 1/2"

---------------------------------------

Take the Gray Granite Card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Glue the thin 1/2" strip of DSP to one of the Basic WHite Panels - I chose to add mine to the right hand side, but wither way works. It just adds a bit of interest to the inside and continues the design through. Add this panel to the inside of the card.

With the Other piece of Basic White, place it into the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder and run it through your Cut & Emboss Machine. Add this panel to the card front.

Adhere the remaining piece of DSP to the card front towards the left, making sure you have even borders on the top, bottom and let hand edge.

On scraps of Basic White stamp the large rose ad leaf cluster and two small flower in memento black ink. Once dry colour in with your Water colour pencils. I used Garden Green for the leaves and Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight Pencils for the flowers. The Flirty Flamingo was used for all the detail with quite a dark finish, filled in the rest of the petals with a light touch of Calypso Coral and the centre are the Daffodil Delight. Once Colour use the coordinating dies to cut out, or these are pretty simple shapes to fussy cut.

Add these to the card from. Add the large flower with dimensionals and the two smaller flowers with liquid glue, tucking them behind the raised flower image.

On a bit more scrap Basic White, stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment twice in Gray Granite. Cut the Happy from one and Birthday from the other - ensuring even borders. You can do this from just the one stamp, but I felt it made my words look too small with such a thin border.

Add the Happy above and the Birthday below the Flower Cluster with mini dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, please continue through the hop for much more crafting inspiration. Next up is Cheryl, click on the arrow to head on over to her blog
