Happy Birthday Rubber Band Technique Gift Box. Team Challenge Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I wanted to share this fun project with you. Within our Team, we set weekly challenges to keep everyone motivated and encourage that mojo to stay around. Themes have been submitted by all team members.

This week Bec through this challenge into the ring - Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.

I really had to think about this one, but I'm really happy with how it have turned out.

Something Old - I used the Tailored Tag Punch

Something New - The Happy Birthday Sentiment is from a Brand New Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set.

Something Borrowed - So I decided to use Rubber Bands for the stamping which I 'borrowed' from the office.

Something Blue - I used a selection of Blue inks.

Measurements

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 11 3/4" x 8 1/4" - (1 full sheet of A4)

1pc - scrap for the sentiment

Balmy Blue Card Stock

1pc - scrap for the sentiment

Take a clear block and wrap some rubber bands around it.

Now use this as a stamp, ink it up and cover the A4 sheet of card stock. Start with the lightest colour and build up layers as you get through to the darker colours.

Once the ink has dried pop the card stock into your simply scored and score as follows:-

Long Side - 1/2", 2 1/2", 9 1/4" & 11 1/4"

Short Side 2", 4", 6", 8"

Fold and burnish all the score lines. then cut away at the card stock so you get a shape like this.

Use a small circle punch to add a couple of thumb notches as above. Run some adhesive along the 1/2" tab on the left and fold round to make the card 3D. fold in both sides and tuck in.

Stamp the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto a scrap of basic white and cut out using the tailored tag punch. cut a tag shape from a scrap of balmy blue card stock, cut this down the middle and add to the sentiment piece, making sure you show a nice border of the blue behind the basic white.

Finally add this to the top of the box using dimensionals.
