Breathtaking Bouquet Emboss Resist Birthday Card

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are well. We made it, it's finally Friday... It seems to have been a long week, don't you think??

My card today has been made using a Technique called Emboss Resist. So, basically you heat emboss and image, and then sponge over it with colour leaving the most beautiful effect. I used our New Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp, and boy, it's just that.

Measurements

Basic Gray Cardstock
1pc -  4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic black cardstock
1pc - 4" x 5 3/4"
1pc - scrap for sentiment

Whisper White Cardstock
1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
1pc -  3 3/4" x 5 1/2"
1pc - scrap for sentiment

Start by folding the basic gray cardstock along the score line, then add the larger whisper white panel to the inside and the basic black cardstock to the front.

Take the remaining piece of whisper white and stamp the Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp in versamark to cover it all. Carefully hold the panel and cover with clear embossing powder, making sure you get a good covering over all the versamark ink. Gently tap off any excess powder then heat set with your heat tool. Once all the powder has melted and is smooth, leave to one side to cool completely.

Now it is cool, start sponging, I used a combination of sponges and daubers to get into all the areas. Start with small gentle circles and lightly add colour to the different flowers and leaves, building up the colour as you go. Blend the colours together slightly where they meet. Once all covered, take a dry cloth and go over the embossed lines to remove any ink that may have settled on them. Add snail tk the back if the panel and add to the card front.

Staml the sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set onto a scrap of whisper white and then lauer onto a scrpa if basic black. Add the the lower right hand side of the card .

It can be a bit of a long process, but I think it's definitely worth it, the finished results are fantastic - it's  such a great technique!!
