Filled With Happiness Monotone Birthday Card. Creative Colour Challenges #123

Good Afternoon Everyone.

I hope you are all well.

So, It's been a while since I actually joined in with Creative Colour Challenges and with only a few hours until the end of this week's combo, I'm definitely cutting it fine - but I did it, and hopefully I'm going to be able to provide some inspiration for more of the future challenges.

This week's combo is all blue, a perfect monotone mix. I decided on a very simple, yet effect way to get my colour onto a background and that is basically to drag my ink pad lightly across some Basic White card. It's a great way to use less card stock but still get the block of colours you want.

I used the Filled with Happiness stamp set and coordinating Modern Oval punch to create some layer interest.

What do you think?

Basic White Card Stock

---------------------------------------

Fold the Blueberry Bushel card stock along the score line to create your card base, adding one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Take the remaining piece of Basic White and lay it on a flat surface with some scrap paper or a mat underneath it. Open up the Boho Blue ink pad and hold it in your hand upside down, hold down you Basic White card stock and the 'wipe' you ink pad very lightly across the centre of the card stock. Repeat this with Tahitian Tide ink to the top and Blueberry Bushel to the bottom. Make sure you overlap the colours, this will give you an additional tone between each and ensure you don't have any white card showing.

There will be a lot of ink on this card so be sure to let it dry completely before moving on to the next stage.

Once dry, stamp the full image from Filled with Happiness stamp sent into the centre on this piece.

Adhere this to the card front.

On a scrap of Basic White 'wipe' your Tahitian Tide ink pad across and then once dry, stamp the image again. Then using the Modern Oval Punch cut out the centre section, discarding the words.

Add dimensionals to the back of this and place it directly on top of the flat image on the front of your card.

Ink up the image for a third time and stamp onto a scrap. Colour in the Bird and then fussy cut. I used my blender pen and dabbed it very lightly into the edge of my ink pads to pick up a little colour to use, I didn't want it a dark solid image - but if you;d prefer you could go in with Pencils or Blends.

Add a mini dimensional to the back and place it directly over the bird on the punch out.

Finally add some Rhinestones as flower heads around the border.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - if you would like more information on how the challenges works, or would just like a nosey at the projects entered using this combination - head over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges
