Heartfelt Hugs Garden Walk Greeting Card. Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop. October 2023

 Good Evening Everyone

Today I'm Blog Hopping with the fabulous Stamping INKspirations group and this month we have a sketch layout to follow.

I love a sketch to help guide me when creating, you get creative license of course but It's a great way to get a project started.

I chose to use the Garden Walk DSP for this card, as I absolutely love the papers and this gave me an opportunity to show lots of the patterns on one card. Teaming it up the the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set and coordinating punch resulted in this sweet Sympathy card.

Measurements

Garden Green Card Stock

1pc - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8", scored at 4 1/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

Calypso Coral Card Stock

Pretty Peacock Card Stock

Garden Walk DSP

3pc - 1" x 3 7/8"

1pc - 2 1/4" wide x 4" approx.

1pc - 3/4" x 3 7/8"

--------------------------------------------------

Take the Garden Green Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Stick the 3/4" DSP strip to the edge of the Basic White card stock then add to the inside of the card.

Adhere the 3 1" strips of DSP to the left hand side of the card front - making sure that they are evenly spaced with a nice border between all the strips and the outside edge too.

Take the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and the 2 1/4" and put it through the punch so that the paper is just in the top part of the punch

INSERT

Line up the edges of the paper with the edges of the cutting blades and punch. This will just cut the top of the paper, making you elongate the original size.

Trim this piece down to approx 2 3/4", by cutting along the straight edge at the bottom.

Add this to a scrap of Calypso Coral Card stock and trim down with your snips to leave a nice even border.

Cut a length of Calypso Coral Braided Linen Trim and wrap it round this panel, adhering the loose ends at the back with a bit of tape. Tie a bow with another length of the trim and add it to the left of the panel with a glue dot. Position it over the ribbon line so it looks like it's all one piece.

Pop some dimensionals onto the back and add to the card front.

Stamp the Sentiment from Heartfelt Hexagons onto a scrap of Basic White in Pretty Peacock ink. Cut out using the Heartfelt Hexagon punch, then trim off the bottom to get a straight edge. Add a strip of Pretty Peacock card stock to the bottom,.

Add this to the card front with dimensionals, making it overlap the other piece slightly.

Finally add a couple of the Blooming Pearls above the sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today. Please take a few minute to continue through the hop and get lots more inspiration around this sketch layout. Tricia is up next, so click the button to head over to her blog.
