Perfectly Detailed Masterfully Made Happy Birthday Card - Creative Colour Challenges #CCC99

 Good Afternoon Everyone

This week's brand new Creative Colour Challenges combo was announced at 10am this morning and I just couldn't wait to share with you my project for it. I absolutely love this mix of colours and I just went all out bright and bold with my birthday card.

I have used quite a few products in this card, but that's the great thing about Stampin Up - being able to mix and match is so easy.

Measurements

Poppy Parade Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

Pool Party Card Stock

1pc - scrap

Masterfully Made DSP

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

---------------------------------------------------------------

Take the Poppy Parade Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the Basic White piece to the inside and the DSP to the card front.

Using your 2 3/8" circle punch, cut a circle out in Pool Party card stock and ink the edges using Pool Party ink and a blending brush.

Stamp the Celebrate circle image around the edge in Memento ink and add the lines lined images in Pool Party.

Ink up the Happy Birthday Sentiment in Memento ink and stamp onto a scrap of Basic white then trim.

The Perfectly Detailed stamp is a big background stamp, but I love the flowers, so I decided to use this for my card.  I didn't want to waste lots of Basic White by stamping the whole image, so I laid down my stamp with the red rubber facing up and applied memento ink to the flower area trying not to put too much elsewhere.

I took a scrap of basic white which was a bit larger than the flower image and place it on a really big block, securing the edges with a bit of washi tape.

Then I took my card and block and pressed it into the stamp - kind like backwards stamping! Usually the stamp is on the block and the card on the table. This way I found i was more accurate and it was a lot less messy to get three useable images, not to mention less wasteful.

Once the three flowers have dried, colour in with Poppy Parade Stampin Blends and then fussy cut.

Take these three flowers and the circle & Sentiment from earlier and create your focal point on the card. I used liquid glue to stick down the circle and two of the flowers, then used some dimensionals to the centre flower and the sentiment.

Finally add  rhinestone jewels to the stamped dots around the circle.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today. What do you think to this week's colour combination? If you would like more information on how the challenge works, or have a project to enter - then please pop on over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges
