Beautifully Happy Dandy Designs Birthday Card. Stampin INKspirations Blog Hop. January 2023.

Good Evening Everyone

I'm Blog Hopping with the Stamping INKspirations ladies tonight and we have such a fun theme. It's a sketch challenge with some Glimmer & Shine!

I don't have lots of foil or glimmer paper in my stash, so I opted to add my shine with mainly with embossing powder. I think embossing powders are a must in any stash - so useful to add that touch of elegance, shine and texture interest.

There's lots of little processes for this card, and I won't lie - it isn't one of the quickest cards to make, but I really think that it's worth every second of it!

So here's the sketch we were given - it's very simple and gives a lot of scope for some fantastic creations, as with most sketches you do have 'creative licence' to just use it as a guide - but I stuck to the sketch layout pretty much exactly as I think it works really well.

Here's a couple of close ups of the detail

Take the Basic Black card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Adding the larger piece of Basic White to the inside.

Ink up the small flower outline image and stamp all over the piece of DSP. Cover with clear embossing powder and gently tap off the excess. Heat set with your heat tool. Melting all the powder until its all smooth any shiny.

Bring in your Cut & Emboss machine and run the 1" strip of Basic Black through the Painted Texture Embossing folder.

With a very very light touch, run the versamark ink pad over this embossed piece, The aim is to add some ink to the raised sections, but not really get any onto the flatter sections. Once you are happy with the coverage, sprinkle with gold embossing powder and heat set.

Add this strip to the DSP panel towards the right hand side.

Cut two thin strips of Gold foil, and place these in opposite corners, showing a thin and even edge of Gold.

Place this whole piece onto the card front.

Next, ink up the larger flower outline image and stamp in Versamark ink onto your remaining piece of basic white. Remember that this will be adding like a diamond, so you need to be mindful how you position your stamp. Again, Heat set this with Gold embossing powder.

Once this is cooled colour in using Sweet Sorbet and Shaded Spruce Stampin Blends. You need to apply the colour carefully and gently and be mindful of your embossed lines. If you colour too hard or too much over the embossing you risk lifting it. So take you time with a gentle touch - the results are work it. Once you have colour it in add a thin line around the edge with your black stamp n write marker. You want a really thin coverage on the sides of the card.

Pop some dimensionals behind it and add to the card front.

Finally stamp the two sentiments in memento  and fussy cut. Add these to the card with mini dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, please continue through the hop as there will be lots of inspiration for you. Next up is Robbie Susan Chandler, click on the button below to head over to her blog
