Cottage Rose Best Wishes Card using masking. Share it on a Sunday.

 Good Morning Everyone

Happy Sunday - Today we have another Share it on a Sunday for you. We have decided on an anything goes theme. I've been using a lot of new products recently, so I thought I'd bring out the Cottage Rose stamp set from the Annual catalogue that I haven't used in some time, and with a little masking - create a really simple, but very striking card

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

2pc - 1/4" wide

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

-------------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black Card Stock and fold along the score line to  create your card base. Add one of the Basic White piece to the inside.

Using some Masking Paper or Post in notes, section off a diagonal panel along the centre of the remaining piece of Basic White.

Ink up the flower from Cottage rose and stamp it all over the inside of this marked section, making sure that you overlap the stamping slightly, but be careful not to stamp onto any other parts of the card.

Once the ink is dry, go in with your Stampin Blends and colour the whole centre panel. I used Highland Heather & So Saffron on the flowers and Balmy Blue to colour all the background.

Once fully coloured, peel away your masking paper. You should be left with a pretty perfect line, but because of the nature of blends you may get a bit of colour bleed - but that's OK, and what the strip are for. These strips are there for two reasons, firstly the cover any bleed, but secondly the frame a focus your eye to the design in between. Simply glue these to the card making sure you keep them pretty parallel to each other and cover any 'mess'. Trim off any overhanging parts so that everything is all flush.

Stamp the sentiment in the lower left hand corner using Memento black ink.

Finally add this panel to the card front.

It's so simple, and this technique can work with pretty much any stamp and and colouring tools. You could choose solid stamps, or colour with Pencils - each would give a fantastic result I'm sure.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, please check out what both Donna & Karen have both created today
