Good Evening Everyone
Today I'm taking part in the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Emboss Resist Technique - which is one of my fave techniques - it's relatively easy to do and you can make some absolutely amazing projects with it.
I've decided to revisit a stamp set that I love from the annual catalogue, but I'll be honest I havent used it for some time. I thought this would be perfect to create a little scene on my card front.

-----------------------------------------
Take the Starry Sky card Stock and fold along the score line and add one of the basic white pieces to the inside.
On the remaining piece of basic white, stamp the meadow flower image three times varying the height in versamark ink. Leaving about a third clear at the top for the sky. Add some of the Butterfly clusters in the area for the sky.
On a scrap of basic white stamp a Dragonfly in versamark ink too.
Cover both pieces with clear embossing powder, tap off the excess and set with your heat tool.
Leave to cool.
Once fully cool, bring in you blending brushes and "colour" in the card using Soft Succulent for the leaves and flowers, tranquil tide for the sky and add a little bit off So Saffron over the Butterflies. Blend well so that there's a pretty seamless join between the colour. Start adding ink lightly and then layer it up, building a stronger colour as you go.
Take a paper towel, kitchen roll or a cloth aand gently run over the card. The ink will not absorb into the embossed areas like it does in the card, so it sits on the top. Taking it off will make your images brighter and negate ink transfer.
Use Starry Sky to colour over and around the Dragonfly on your scrap, wipe off as above, then cut this out using the coordinating punch. Also cut out two Dragonflies in Orchid Oasis. Add a thin bead of glue down the body of the Dragonflies and adhere together one on top of each other, placing the ink one on top. Once the glue has dried, gently tease up the wings to give a 3D effect.
Add the larger panel to the centre of the card feont, placing the Dragonfly on the scene wherever you like.
Finally stamp the sentiment onto a scrap if basic white in starry sky ink, trim and add to the bottom of the card.
I hope you have enjoyed my card today, and will have a go at the Emboss Resist technique - but before you head off into the craft room to try - please continue through the hop to get even more inspiration.
