Cross Stitch Christmas Easel Card. Number 52 of #100things

Good Morning Everyone,

Back to my full time job today after a nice long weekend... but I only have 3 days to work and then I have another 4 day weekend.

Today my card is for a challenge over on Stampin For All on Facebook. You, know me a love a challenge and this week it is to create an Easel Card - Not going to miss this one.

Here's the card I created. I have used the Joyous Noel Speciality Designer Series Paper, which is now on limited availability so get your orders in now if you want a pack or three!!

Measurements:-

Sahara Sand Cardstock
1pc - 11" x 4"
1pc - 4 1/4" x 2 3/8"
1pc - 2 1/2" x 3 1/4"

Soft Suede Cardstock
1pc - 3 3/4" x 2"
1pc - 5 1/4" x 3 3/4"

Whisper White Cardstock
1pc - 1 1/4" x 2"
1pc- 4 1/8 x 2 1/4"

Merry Merlot Cardstock
1pc - 1 3/8" x 2 1/8"
1pc - 4 3/8" x 2 1/4"

Joyous Noel Speciality Designer Series Paper
1pc - 3 1/2" x5"
1pc - 3 1/2" x 1 3/4"

So, I know what you are thinking... there's a lot of measurements there... and you would be right. But it really does make the card pop.

Firstly, create a card base from the largest piece of Sahara sand that measures 11" x 4" scored at 2 3/4" & 5 1/2". Fold the middle score line as you would to create a normal card, then fold the other score line in on itself again to create this shape

Stamp the sentiment in merry merlot onto the smallest piece of whisper white, then layer up all the smaller pieces of DSP and cardstock. On the reverse add dimensionals and stack two high - this will give you some height so that you can keep the card stood upright.

Adhere this to the card base on the left hand side base.

Add the 5" x 4 1/2" DSP to the soft suede. wrap a length of the ribbon around the front of the panel and secure on the reverse. Take the smallest piece of sahara sand left and adhere this to the back to cover over the ribbon ends.

Add adhesive to the bottom half of the panel and adhere to the card base on the left hand elevated panel.

On the 4 1/8" x 2 1/4" piece of whisper white stamp the Christmas Tree. Now this is a three step stamp. You get three images one with a heavy coverage of crosses, one with very few and one sort of in the middle. You stamp these all on top of each other and they will give you the full shape. Splitting them onto three stamps helps you create shading and gives you the ability to use different colours easily. I stamped the most solid stamp in tranquil tide, the second solid stamp in call me clover and the most sporadic in Merry Merlot. This was to give the illusion of decorations on the tree.  Stamp the tree trunk and the star and the stamping is complete.

Centralise this on the front of the card.

Here's a list of the supplies I used today, click on the images to head over to my online store.
