Biggest Wish Paper Weave Hello Card. CAS Colours & Sketches #525 - Colours

 Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Monday.

Today I'm taking part in the current CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge - #525 and this one is a colour challenge.

We were given  Boho Blue, Real Red and Mossy Meadow. I love how these three colours work together, and decided on the simplest design by using scrap strips of card stock weaved together in one corner for my Hello card.

This is a great card to send to anyone to say 'Hello', who doesn't like busy or fussy designs, there's no flowers or imagery so it's very simple - you could easily use the technique with other colours or patterned paper to get lots of different results

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

Basic White card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

Boho Blue Card Stock

2pc - 1/4" x 6 1/2" approx

Real Red Card Stock

2pc - 1/4" x 6 1/2" approx

Mossy Meadow Card Stock

2pc - 1 /4" x 6 1/2" approx

--------------------------------------------------

Take the Thick Basic White card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, pop to one side for now.

Lay the Basic White piece in front of you and then position three strips of card (one of each colour) vertical to the left. Then Lay the remaining three horizontally. Now take the strips and weave then together.  I used the Basic White as a guide to where to start weaving and to make sure that the strips would all fit correctly onto it later

Over - Under - Over // Under - Over - Under // Over - Under - Over

Make sure you have got the strips alternating over and under across the whole section and when you are happy, gently lift up the strips and pop a little glue to adhere then together. Take you time to make sure that the strips stay evenly spaced.

Now glue this whole piece down onto the Basic white piece. Trim off any excess overhanging strips.

Ink up the sentiment from Biggest Wish in Mossy Meadow ink and stamp in the bottom right of the card.

Adhere this panel to your card front.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - I love playing around with the Weave Technique. Do head on over to  CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge blog to take a look at all the inspiration for this colour combo from both the Design Team and other entries.

  1. I love how you put the challenge colours together in your card Vickie! I often find myself using more graphic elements (like this) with the colour challenges. Thanks for playing along with my colour challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches!
