Lovely in Linen Happy Birthday Card. Touches of Ink Blog Hop. March 2023

 Good Evening Everyone

Today i'm blog hopping with the Touches of Ink ladies and I decided to revisit an annual catalgoue favourite of mine - the Lovely in Linen suite is right up my street! Bold colour combinations, retro style imagery and designs make for a stunning suite, but I have tried to work with a muted colour palette with a Pop of colour on the flowers.

What do you think?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take the Early Espresso Card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, adding the basic white piece to the inside.

Ink up the mosaic tile image and cover the card front using Early Espresso ink. I didn't worry too much about it being perfectly aligned or overlapping and you only see a fraction of it - it just adds a bit more interest that it staying plain card stock.

Ink up the large flower image in versamark ink and then stamp a full image towards the right hand side, then add another next to it towards the top left. Most of this will be covered but it just fills the space better. Heat set these with  White Embossing Powder and your heat tool.

Now gently rip the DSP about 1 1/2" along the top, ripping diagonally to the bottom edge. I kept placing my piece over the embossed piece to check that I had most of the right flower showing. Adhere the DSP down when you are happy with the rip.

On a scrap of Basic white stamp the large floral image twice in Sweet Sorbet ink and fussy cut two of the smaller and one large open flower heads, then glue these down near to the ripped edge. Colour in some pearls with your Daffodil Delight blends and add to the flower centres.

On a scrap of night of Navy card stock stamp the border, leaf image and sentiment in versamark and heat set again with white embossing powder.

Cut out using the lasting label punch, along with two from the Early Espresso scrap. Layer the early espresso pieces behind to give a little border top and bottom. Add this to the centre of the card, overlapping the sweet sorbet flowers and the embossed side.
