Half Full Happy Birthday Card using Stampin Up Products

Hey Everyone,

It's here.... FRIDAY!! Yey! It seems to have taken a while got get here. My weekend is fit to burst with exciting things and I have a lot of projects to make up ready to show all you lovely lot.

But, first I want to show you today's card...

This card was a commissioned piece, asked for by a customer. Now I know it has been given & received I have permission to share it with you. My only brief was that the recipient loves to drink red wine and that they didn't want anything fussy or flowery!!

Take a piece of Very Vanilla that measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" and using you detailed trio punch, create the flourish cut out in each corner of the cardstock.

Then ink up the bottle of wine and glass from the Half Full stamp set and place toward the bottom. You can use any sentiment but I used the Happy Birthday from the Lemon Zest stamp set. Once the ink has dried take out your Stampin write markers in Fresh fig, Garden Green, Real Red and So Saffron and colour in the images.

Layer all your pieces together and put a very vanilla piece onto the inside and you are done. I told you it was simple!

Silver Embossed Feathers Sympathy Card using Stampin Up Products

Hello Everyone,

We've made it past midweek - we are now on the downslope to the weekend and I cant wait.... I have a lot of things planned in this weekend, with a few hours pencilled in for crafting so I'm looking forward.

My card for today is a sympathy card... I always get sad when I have to make a sympathy card, but that doesn't me the card itself has to be sad, it can be uplifting and provide a small ray of sunshine for the recipient during a hard time..

Keeping it simple with the layers allows you to create a great card with interest quickly. I like the no fuss look this gives and the focus is on the shimmery shiny feathers.

Taking the whisper white strip, stamp the layer of the feathers except for the most detailed with smoky slate ink randomly over it - I used a mixture of first and second generation stamping to add texture and depth.

Make sure that the ink is dry and then rub it over with the embossing buddy. Take the most detailed image and ink up in versamark. cover with the silver embossing powder and lightly tap off the excess.... use the heat gun to melt the powder. Rub the embossing buddy over a layer of Night of navy card stock and repeat the embossing process for the with sympathy sentiment from better Together, which I place in the bottom right hand corner

Layer up all of you mats together and the card is done!

Artistically Asian Rainbow Emboss Resist Card using Stampin Up Products

Hello Everyone,

 I have tried to do something a little different with my time today. Yes, it's a card but I didn't want to do the norm!!

A few blog posts back I used the Artistically Asian stamp set for the first time and I stuck to a more traditional theme using gold, black and red. This time I wanted to mix it up a little and do something a little outside the box....

The measurements for the layers are as follows:-

Basic Gray
1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4" scored at 5 7/8"

Gold Foil Sheet
1pc -  5 1/2" x 4 3/4"

Smoky Slate
1pc - 4 3/4" x 3 1/3"

Whisper White
1pc - 3" x 4 1/4"

First take the basic gray, gold foil and the smoky slate and layer together.

Take the whisper white piece and rub over it with the embossing buddy. This will help remove the grease, oils and static which may be on the card, helping the embossing powder to stick only where you want it!

Ink up the grass image from the Artistically Asian stamp set with versamark ink and stamp towards the top of the card. Add clear embossing powder and using a heat gun, heat until it has all melted - you will know when this is 'ready' as the powder will have turned shiny and smooth.

Set this to one side to cool down, whilst you have all the embossing equipment out.. on a scrap piece of smoky slate create your sentiment. If I'm honest I wasn't sure what sentiment to use for this so Hey Friend from Orange Blossoms kept my card more generic for any occasion.

Bring back in the whisper white piece and bring out the sponges and ink pads. I used a whole variety of colours in small pockets, but this technique can work just as well with two or three colours. Take a sponge and ink it up, in circular motions bring the sponge to the card from the edge towards to centre. Make sure you start your sponging on scrap paper and then progress onto the stamped piece. This way you will minimise any harsh lines and the background will have a smoother even tone. Switch an change the colours as you wish, but make sure you blend the colours well when they touch, making the merge together rather than look like they are side by side.

Once the piece is covered, take a paper towel or a dry cloth and gently dab off any ink that may have gone on the image. This should come away easy and it just sits on top of the embossed area.

All you need to do now is adhere this to the card base and add the sentiment!

Fabulous Floral Flourish Thank You Card using Stampin Up Products

Hello Everyone,

So today I have a great card to show you, the design itself is very simple and purposefully so... I wanted to show off our new 2018-2020 in colors. For the next two years we get to have these awesome colours in our collection. 

We have Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel, Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch & Grapefruit Grove. The names are brilliant I themselves, but the colours are so striking!!

Using the large floral image from flourishing Phrases stamp set, I covered a piece of Whisper white that measures 3 5/8" x 5 5/8" with the different in colours, creating my own DSP. I then layered this onto a card base made from Basic Black - I really wanted the colours to pop!

I took the thoughtful banner stamp set and Stamped the banner shape and the Thank You sentiment  using Blueberry Bushel and Grapefruit Grove, respectively  and cut it out used the Duet Banner punch. 

Adding a few clear faceted gems to the centre of the flowers add a bit of bling.
