Today I'm taking part in the Touches of Ink blog Hop. We hop once a month and have pretty much free reign with a theme, although we are encouraged to focus on a bundle or a suite.
I've only just had the Thoughtful Expressions bundle delivered, and I couldn't wait to have a play with it so I created a Faux Side Stepper card with it today - I also added in some of the Delightfully Eclectic DSP.

Fold and burnish the score lines on the larger piece of Garden Green, taking note on folding the short score lines to create your 'peak' to the front Hold the card so that the small peak in facing up - adding the two pieces of DSP, then flip it around and add the basic white piece to the back.
Add the DSP pieces to the remaining piece of Garden Green. Fold and burnish the score line.
Add a thin line of glue to the bottom of the back of the smaller piece and add this to the card - lining up the left edge with the left of the card base. Make sure that you don't add glue too far up otherwise you will stick the card closed.
Flip this over and fold flat, then add another thin line of glue to the open edge of the overlay piece, then fold it over and adhere down - again make sure you don't add too much glue too far over as it may cause you to stick your card shut.
On a Scrap of Basic White stamp the Hummingbird image in memento ink.
Bring in your Stampin Cut & Emboss machine and using the Thoughtful Expressions dies cut out the Hummingbird and some of the fancy label pieces. I cut the second largest in Garden Green and the next one down in Basic White.
On the Basic White label stamp the sentiment into the centre, then add the large flower image all around the edge to fill in the blank space.
Once the ink is dry, grab a handful of Stampin Blends and colour the flowers and the hummingbird. I googled for images of Hummingbirds and then very roughly tried to replicated the colouring with what I had and I think I did a decent job - It's definitely not a true colouring, but here's to creative license? haha. I also tried to replicate the flowers from the DSP - using Bubble Bath and Blackberry Bliss.
Layer the white label to the Garden Green label and add to the centre of the left hand panel, then figure out your positioning of the humming bird and add some mini dimensionals to hold it in place - be sure to watch where they are placed, otherwise you may stick your card together. I positioned mine to that I could place one behind the tailfeathers and one behind the head, then added a smidge of liquid glue to stick down the beak.
