Monochromatic Insta Hop - Tahitian Tide

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm very late in sharing this card - this Colour was from a few week's back! I know I'm very behind with my blogging and sharing! I wasn't going to blog it, but the I was asked about how I created the background, so I thought I'd do a really quick post so that it's out there for those who wish to know how.

I love Tahitian Tide, but I only have Ink and Card stock in that colour, so I did have to think a little harder for this card because not having DSP to use or extra embellishments I had to really work that old grey matter to get something that looked fabulous.

I've used the Enchanted Butterfly Stamp set for my images. I background was created with blended circles and a dotty stamp!

What do you think?

----------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black Card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, adding one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Cut a 2" circle from a piece of scrap, you will be using this as a stencil as such to create those blended circles, so make sure you leave plenty of space around the cut out.

Lay the 'stencil' onto your remaining piece of Basic White card stock and using some Tahitian Tide ink and a blending brush add circles all over the card stock.

Now lay the Stencil back over the circles, but this time fill in the circles with the dotty image and some Tahitian Tide ink. This gives some additional interest, but as it's tone on tone it's quite softly done.

Once you are happy with the background, adhere it to the centre of the card front.

Lay the 1 1/2" strip of across the bottom of the card front, about 1 1/2" up.

Cut a Basic Black and a Tahitian Tide 2" circle from card stock scraps.

Stamp the sentiment from Charming Sentiments to the right hand side of the 1" strip of Basic White.

Take the sentiment strip and the two circles and figure out your placement on your card. Depending on where you place the circles, you may need to trim a little from the sentiment strip so that it doesn't show toward the left of the circles.

Now on scraps stamp the butterfly image three times, once on Basic White and twice on Tahitian Tide - all in Tahitian Tide. Fussy cut all three and layer then together. Place the white one on top and only add adhesive to the spine of the butterfly, this will allow you to fan out the wings.

Once you are happy with your butterfly add it to the circle area.

I hope you have enjoyed my card, I really enjoyed making it - if you have a few minutes please pop on over to Instagram and check out the other Tahitian Tide projects, Click here to visit my instagram
