Bright & Beautiful Faux Side Stepper Thank You Card. International Blog Highlights. August 2023.

 Good Evening Everyone

Today I'm taking part in the International Blog Highlights. This is where Stampin Up Demonstrators from all over the world are invited to submit a Project around the 'Thank You' Theme. Then, anybody and everybody gets the chance to vote for their favourite submissions and after the deadline the Ten people with the most votes will take part in a Winners Hop later in the month.

So, please take a look at the tutorial then after you will find details on how to vote. I would absolutely love your vote, it would mean a lot for me to be able to hop with the winners!

As it happened, I needed a Thank You card for my dear friend who isn't overly keen on flowers and fuss - so I got to making a card using the Bright & Beautiful DSP. These Designs are brilliant and allowed me to keep my decoration to a minimum. I decided on a Faux Stepper to make the whole thing a little more interesting - and here it is...

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8", scored at 3 1/8", 6 1/4" & 7 1/4"

1pc - 3 5/8" x 5 7/8", scored at 4 1/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 3" x 5 3/4"

Berry Burst Card Stock

1pc - scrap

Lost Lagoon Card Stock

2pc - scrap

Bright & Beautiful DSP

1pc - 3" x 5 3/4"

1pc - 7/8" x 5 3/4"

1pc - 1 1/2" x 3 1/2"

1pc - 4" x 3 1/2"

2 scrap strips

-------------------------------------

Fold and burnish the score lines on the larger piece of Basic Black, taking note on folding the short score lines to create your 'peak' to the front Hold the card so that the small peak in facing up - adding the two pieces of DSP, then flip it around and add the basic white piece to the back.

Add the DSP pieces to the remaining piece of Basic Black. Fold and burnish the score line.

Add a thin line of glue to the bottom of the back of the smaller piece and add this to the card - lining up the left edge with the left of the card base. Make sure that you don't add glue too far up otherwise you will stick the card closed.

Flip this over and fold flat, then add another thin line of glue to the open edge of the overlay piece, then fold it over and adhere down - again make sure you don't add too much glue too far over as it may cause you to stick your card shut.

Finally stamp the sentiments from Biggest Wish in Versamark ink onto some scraps of Lost Lagoon card stock. Sprinkle with White embossing powder and set with your heat tool. Fussy Cut the script 'Thanks' and trim down the solid 'Friend' Sentiments.

Cut out a circle in Berry Burst Card stock using your 2 3/8" circle punch and add the two strips of DSP across the centre. trim any overhang so the DSP is flush with the circle below.

Add the circle to the centre of the card front, making the blue DSP lines diagonal, then with dimensionals add the sentiments on top.

I Hope you have enjoyed my card today - I would really appreciate your vote - please click below to head over to the Gallery where you can see my card, along with all the other participants and place your votes.
