Hello There Sentimental Park Greeting Card. CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #518

 Good Evening Everyone

Today I'm taking part in this week's CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #518 which i a very simple sketch layout to follow - with so much scope to create.

I've done a few Clean and Simple cards recently, and have professed at my difficulty in creating on this theme, but I must be getting the hang of it a bit now as I felt this card came together very easily and I was very quickly convinced it was finished!

I have used the Sentimental Park bundle and the Darling Details stamp set, along with a strip of Delightfully eclectic DSP. What do you think?

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored 5 7/8"

scraps

Granny Apple Green Card Stock

scrap

Delightfully Eclectic DSP

1pc - 2" x 5 1/4"

---------------------------------------

Take the Thick Basic white card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Add the DSP towards the left hand side, making sure that you have a nice even border around those three sides.

On a scrap of Basic white stamp the flower cluster outline from Sentimental Park stamp set in Melon Mambo ink and add the solid image in 2nd Generation (stamped off once) to 'colour' them in.

Bring in your Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out the flowers with the coordinating die and also cut out a stem image in Granny apple green.

Ink up the Sentiment from Darling Details stamp set in Night of Navy ink and stamp onto a scrap of Basic White - cut out using the smooth oval from the double oval punch.

Position all these three elements onto the card front, being sure to keep everything on the DSP. I used liquid glue for my stem, then dimensionals for the flowers and the sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today, head on over to CAS Colours & Sketches Blog  to get lots more inspiration using this layout.

Creative Colour Challenges - #103 Entries

 Good Evening Everyone,

Happy Sunday! I hope you have all had a fabulous Weekend and are ready for a great week ahead.

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

I do hope to continue this as long as possible, with the entry numbers as they are now, this is something I'm happy to work on, but if by some amazing force,  the numbers grow in strength I may have to reassess how I do this!

Charming Sentiments Enchanted Butterfly Beyond Grateful Card. Paper Players "Don't Bug Me" CAS Card Challenge. PP654

 Good Evening Everyone,

Today I'm taking part in this week's The Paper Players  Clean & Simple Challenge : PP654.

Now if you have followed me for a while, you know that Clean & Simple doesn't come easy to me - it sounds bizarre but I always panic with this theme - too little on the card and I don't think it looks finished - too much on the card and it's no longer Clean and Simple! Makes my mind boggle and my brain overthink!

But in true Vickie style, I will not be defeated and I'm living by the 'Practice makes Perfect' mantra right now - surely the more I try, the better I will feel about this style? hmm - we shall see!

I was also thrown a curveball with the 'Featuring a type of Insect' part of the theme. I have Dragonflies, Ladybugs / Bumblebees and Butterflies - After much deliberation of too many sorts, I create this lovely card.

I used my Simply Scored to add some score lines to a mat layer to add additional interest and have the simplest butterfly and sentiment. What do you think?

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

1pc -scrap

-----------------------------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.  Add one of the Basic White to the inside.

Bring in your simply scored and place the remaining piece of Basic white in it. Then score at 1/2", 3/4" and 1" on all four sides - this gives a nice border without too much fuss!

Ink up the two sentiments in memento ink and add your sentiments. I arranged the score lines so these two sentiments sit neatly in the centre. Add the Beyond Grateful to the top of the centre 'Rectangle' and the Thank You to the bottom.

Adhere this to the card front

On a scrap, stamp the butterfly image from Enchanted Butterfly stamp set and once dry colour using Melon Mambo Stampin Blends. Fussy cut, then pop in between the sentiments with a dimensional.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - I think I'm finally getting the hang of CAS! haha.

Handmade Hugs You're the Best Greeting Card. Creative Colour Challenges - #CCC103

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm taking part in Creative Colour Challenges #CC103. This week's combination is absolutely gorgeous, and not usually my style so It definitely made me think!

I've used the Handmade Hugs stamp Set  to create a lovely background and coordinating Handmade Hugs Punch to create a sentiment piece, varying the punch outs to create more interest.

What do you think?

Measurements

Boho Blue Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4" , scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - scrap

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

1pc - scrap

Pretty Peacock Card Stock

1pc - scrap

------------------------------------------------------

Take the Boho Blue and stock and fold along the score line tot create your card base, adding one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Ink up the detailed image from Handmade Hugs stamp set in Pretty Peacock and cover the remaining piece of Basic White, creating your own pretty  patterned 'paper'. Once the ink is dry - very carefully colour in the images with Pretty Peacock & Tahitian Tide. I used my ink pads and a blender pen for this, as I don't have any of the Blends, but you could use blends or your Stampin' Write markers if you would prefer.

Add this panel to the card front.

On a scrap of Basic White stamp the smaller flourish image in Pretty Peacock ink and once dry colour in using the same method as above. Stamp the sentiment into the centre.

Bring in your Handmade Hugs Punch and cut out the image, lining it up as well as you can in the punch. Trim off the blank space above and below to create a thin label type strip. Cut out a Boho Blue Handmade Hug shape and adhere these together - being careful to line up the white piece perfectly to the boho Blue shape below. Now cut a Pretty Peacock Tag shape and cut this in half, then find the right side it fits to and adhere this behind the Boho Blue, making sure you leave a nice even trim of colour, repeat this for the opposite corner.  You may find when you look close that some of the Peacock card is sticking out and looks a little out of place - I just took my snips and trimmed these little bits so that it was all flush.

Add this to the card front with a few dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - I loved playing around with this colour combination. If you would like more details on how the challenge works or have a project to enter, then head over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges - I would love to see all your creations.
