Thoughtful Expressions Thinking of You Stable Door Card. Creative Colour Challenges #134

 Good Afternoon Everyone!

I hope you are all well. It's been a while since I took part in Creative Colour Challenges, but I had hard words with myself earlier in the week and I must do better, so I have sat and created for #134. This Colour combo is fabulous - I love the rich deep colours and they work so well together.

I've used the Thoughtful Expressions bundle along with the Bold Bouquet stamp set to create a very lovely Thinking of You Stable Dorr Card. This fun fold is super easy and just adds a little something more to the card.

What do you think?

Measurements

Moody Mauve Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - scrap

Very Vanilla Card Stock

2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

1pc - 2 1/4" x 5 5/8"

2pc - scrap

Starry Sky Card Stock

1pc -scrap

------------------------------------------

Take your Moody Mauve card stock and down mark at 2"" a small pencil dot on the score line, and one at the right hand side, again at 2"". Pop this into your trimmer and cut down to the 1 3/4" mark on the score line, then rotate the card stock so that the cut line is to your left and cut down to the score line from the 2" pencil mark. You could do this by eye without marking, but I have a tendency to get a bit giddy and overcut! haha.

It should look like this once you have made the cuts.

This should free up a panel of card stock ( which you can save for another project) and leave you a 'stable door' card front. Fold and burnish this piece, keeping the score line to the left as you would a standard card base.

Glue down one of the 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" piece of Very Vanilla to the outside back panel which is the inside of the card.

Take the Flower image and stamp it all over the remaining 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" & 1 7/8" pieces of Very Vanilla Card stock.

Add the larger piece to the 'inside' of the card, and the thinner piece on the outside of the 'door'

Bring in in your Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine and using the Thoughtful Expressions Dies, cut out the label shapes. The largest in Starry Sky, Next down in Moody Mauve and the next on down again in Very Vanilla.

Stamp the sentiment from Bold Bouquet in to the centre of the Very Vanilla piece and they layer all three together.

Close the card base and figure out where your sentiment panel will sit. Try to get it a centred as possible, the add dimensionals to the back of this piece, but only to the section that will sit on the 'door'. If you place then too high up, you will end up gluing your card shut.

On another scrap of Very Vanilla stamp the Hummingbird in Wild Wheat ink and then using a blender pen and your Starry Sky and Moddy Mauve ink pads to add some colour - also add a touch of Wink of Stella to give a little shimmer. Use the coordinating die and your Cut & Emboss Machine to cut it out. Position this onto the sentiment panel - only adding dimensionals to places that will adhere it to the die cut label panel, if you go further out you may glue the card shut!

I Hope you have enjoyed my card today - I absolutely loved playing around with these colours. The Challenge is opening for another day (ends Sunday 31st March 6pm GMT), but you could use this combo anytime - I would love to see what you create.

Darling Details Vertical Blooms Thank You Card Monochromatic Insta Hop - Flirty Flamingo

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

It's Friday - and that means it's time for our next colour in our Monochromatic Insta Hop. This week we are all showcasing Flirty Flamingo.

I've used the Darling Details stamp set to create a floral panel and besides that I've stamped the sentiment from Vertical Blooms. Finished off with a little bit of Black & White Gingham Ribbon.

What do you think?

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4" scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"

Flirty Flamingo Card Stock

1pc - 2 7/8" x 5 5/8"

--------------------------------------------------------------

Take the Thick Basic White card stock and fold to create your card base.

Ink up the outline flower image from Darling Details in Memento ink and cover the Thin Basic White strip. Then using Flirty Flamingo ink and the solid in fill stamp, 'Colour' in all the flowers.

Layer this piece to the Flirty Flamingo card stock. Wrap a length of Gingham ribbon around this panel about a third of the way up. Tie a bow in the same ribbon and attach this using a glue dot.

Place this whole panel onto the card front, positioning it over the left - making sure you have even borders top, bottom and left hand side.

Ink up the sentiment from Vertical Blooms in Memento ink and stamp centrally to the right hand side.

All Done! This is a super simple card and whilst it looks fabulous in Flirty Flamingo it would look  great in so many other different colours too. It's a great layout to have to hand!

Pleas take a minute or two and pop over to Instagram and check out all the other projects made with Flirty Flamingo! - Monochromatic Insta Hop

Just Wanted to Say I love you Country Bouquet Vintage Inspired Card. International Smart Stampin Instagram Hop.

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm sharing yet another card I made a while back. This time it was for the International Smart Stampin Instagram Hop and our theme was 'Love'.

I immediately knew I had to use the beautiful Country Bouquet Stamp set. I went for a distressed and vintage look with ripped card and some blending with Crumb Cake ink.

What do you think?

Measurements

Crumb Cake Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

1pc - 5 5/8" x 2 1/2" approx

scrap

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

Real Red Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 2" approx

--------------------------------------------------------

Take the Crumb Cake card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base.

Ink up the outline heart image in real red ink and cover one of the pieces of Basic White. Lightly add Crumb Cake ink with your blending brush around all the edges of this panel and the remaining piece of basic white.

Add the plain blended card piece to the inside of the card.

On your piece of Crumb Cake stamp the smaller hearts in Crumb Cake. Then Gently rip the right hand edge.

Also rip the right hand edge of the Real Red piece.

Layer these pieces together making sure you have a nice strip of Real Red showing beneath the  Crumb Cake.

Adhere this to the Basic White piece that has been stamped with the Heart. Lining up the left edges so they are flush, then place it on the card front.

Using a Blending Brush, add some Crumb Cake ink to the edges.

On scraps of Basic White stamp the sentiments in Real Red ink and trim.

Then create the heart image, by stamping the two large images one on top of each other to create the full shape.  Ink up the leaves and stems in Crumb Cake and add the flower image directly over the top with Real Red ink.

Fussy cut around the heart, adhere to a scrap of Crumb Cake and trim around that leaving a nice even border.

Add dimensionals to the back of the Sentiment strips and the heart and then arrange on the card front.
