Thinking of You Sentimental Park Greeting Card. Creative Colour Challenges #CCC108

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Today I'm sharing a card I made for this week's Creative Colour Challenges. Now, I'm not going to lie - these colours came up on the wheel and I thought hmmmmm interesting, not sure about that mix. Now, it's time to work with them and I was even more unsure. I had all three colours in card stock, but only Soft Sea Foam, so that didn't help!

It took me a while to come up with a concept but I'm actually really loving how the card turned out. We have die cutting, dry embossing, ink blending, stamping and punching! There's a lot going on but It works, and these colours look fab together! What do you think?

Measurements

Wild Wheat Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

scraps

Boho Blue Card Stock

1pc - 3 3/4" x 5 1/2"

scrap

Very Vanilla Card Stock

1pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

Soft Sea Foam

2 strips - 1/2" wide

1 strip - 3/4" wide

scraps

------------------------------------------------------

Take the Wild Wheat card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base - add the Very Vanilla piece to the inside.

Arrange the three strips of Soft Sea Foam Diagonally across the Boho Blue Card piece. I placed the 3/4" strip in the centre and the 1/2" strips either side. Trim off any overhanging card and then run this whole piece through your Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine using the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder.

Using your Blending Brush and some Soft Sea Foam ink add 'patches' to the embossing panel. I wanted to get some different tones going on, but I wanted to keep areas of solid Boho Blue and the Soft Sea Foam. Once happy with the inking, adhere this panel to the card front.

Go back to your Cut & Emboss Machine and using the Sentimental Park Dies, cut out the largest elaborate frame in Wild Wheat card and the stitched edge frame in Boho Blue card.

Stamp the sentiment into the centre of the Boho Blue die cut using Memento ink. The 'Thinking of' is actually one line, but it wouldn't fit in this orientation, so I inked up each word separately - very carefully and stamped then on top of each other. You could mask off the words whilst inking up and then remove the mask before stamping if you need to be sure you won't pick up ink where you don't want it.

Add this to the top of the Wild Wheat dies cut - tucking the two edges into the cut lines and making sure it is even and flat. I added a smidge of liquid glue after I'd positioned it to help keep it in place - by gently lifting up an edge and squeezing the tiniest amount under.

Add this to the centre of the card front with dimensionals.

On a Scrap of Soft Sea Foam stamp the trio of flowers stamp from Petal Park twice and cut out using the Petal Park Builder Punch. Pop a little liquid glue behind the largest flowers and position then at either sides of the wild wheat decoration, tucking them under the sentiment piece. Add the small flowers on the sentiment piece with dimensionals close by.

Finally add a bit of wink of stella to the Soft Sea Foam flowers and then pop a few pearls into the centre of the flowers heads.

I hope you liked my card today! If you would like more details on how the challenge works, or have a project you would like to enter - head on over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges

Creative Colour Challenges - #107

 Good Evening Everyone,

Happy Sunday! I hope you have all had a fabulous Weekend and are ready for a great week ahead.

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

I do hope to continue this as long as possible, with the entry numbers as they are now, this is something I'm happy to work on, but if by some amazing force,  the numbers grow in strength I may have to reassess how I do this!

Sending Birthday Wishes Card using the Cling Film Technique - Crafty Collaborations Share it on Sunday September 2023

 Good Afternoon Everyone

Today I'm taking part in the Crafty Collaborations Share it Sunday Blog Hop. There's no set theme for this hop, just an opportunity to Share some projects we have been making.

I wanted to share a card I made using the Cling Film / Plastic Wrap Technique. It has been around for 'Forever' but I've never actually tried it. So ridiculously easy and a great way to add texture to your card without adding layers.

To show off my background to it's fullest I kept the decoration simple using the Sending Dies.

This card would be perfect to send to someone who doesn't like overly fussy cards - you know, they prefer something simple - you could easily use different colours to match their favourites.

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", scored at 4 1/8"

scraps

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

scraps

-----------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black Card Stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Scrunch up three pieces of cling film / plastic wrap into loose balls. Take a ball and tap it straight onto your ink pad, then 'stamp' on your remaining piece of Basic White. Use all one 'Ball' per colour and just repeat this until you are happy with how your pattern looks. I added quite a bit of ink to get a lot of depth. I used Azure Afternoon, Blueberry Bushell and Pool Party. Leave this panel to dry fully, then add to the card front.

Bring in your Mini Stampin Cut & Emboss machine and using the Sending Dies cut the word sending in Basic White along with the banner die. Cut the Sending word background in Basic Black.

Layer the sending words together and stamp the sentiment onto the banner.

Add both of these to the centre of the card front. Pop a rhinestone above the 'i' and one either side of the Birthday Wishes sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - I loved making it! Please take a look through the list below and check out what projects everyone else is sharing - there's sure to be lots of inspiration for you
