Beautiful Gallery Just a Note Embossed Card. The Project Share Blog Hop - September 2025

 Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'm taking part in the monthly Project Share Blog Hop and this month our theme is Embossing.

There's two types of embossing - dry embossing where you use patterned folders and pressure to creating indentations in your card. Second is Heat Embossing where you stamp images in clear ink and then add powder to it, use a heat tool and melt the powder, creating a slightly raised shiny finish.

I'm using the Heat Embossing Technique today and I've used clear embossing on my background panel - this way you get the detail from the stamp, but you see the colours of the card through it and then I went bold and used White embossing powder on the flower image.

what do you think?

Measurements

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8"

scraps

Basic White Card Stock

2pc - 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"

----------------------------------------

Take the Basic Black card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base, adding one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Now open your ink pads - I used Darling Duckling, Strawberry Slush and Timid Tiger. Lay the remaining piece of Basic White in front of you the, holding the ink pad upside down, very light 'drag' it across the card to create a stripe of solid colour. I started with Timid Tiger across the centre first, then added Darling Duckling to the top and strawberry slush to the bottom. Try to overlap the colours a little as this helps to create a nice transition through the colours, and also you don't want to see any white.

This will mean your card is heavily saturated with ink so you may need to leave it a while to fully dry, and to emboss over the top it needs to be bone dry.

So once it's dry, rub over your embossing buddy then ink up the detailed image in Versamark in and randomly stamp the image all over. Now sprinkle over the clear embossing powder making sure all the ink is covered, very gently tap off the excess loose powder. Bring in your heat tool and melt all the powder.

Now add to the card front.

On a scrap of Basic Black repeat the embossing process, but this time use the large floral image and white embossing powder. Also do the sentiment.

Trim down the sentiment and angle the edges.

Bring in your Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out a frame from Basic Black and also use the coordinating die to cut out your flower.

Add the frame to the card front, then with dimensionals, add the flower and the sentiment to the centre.

I hope you liked my card today - I really enjoyed making it.
