Framed Florets Thank You Card - Creative Colour Challenges - #CCC66

 Good Morning Everyone

Happy Wednesday! Sorry I'm a little late with my Creative Colour Challenges project this week. Things have been a little hectic at home with what seems little constant coughs and colds and illnesses with the girls and Dave, so my crafting has had to take a back seat unfortunately! So, please do bear with me - I will still be putting out projects, but maybe just not as often as usual.

This card was made to highlight this week's Creative Colour Challenges combo which is fabulous, albeit a little tricky! The Mix of Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo and Early Espresso was quite difficult to work with, I really wasn't sure how to go with this - but I just thought let's go bold and have fun with the design. I have used scraps of card and the painted Textured embossing folder to create a great background for the sentiment piece that was made using the Framed Florets bundle.

-----------------------------------

Take the Early Espresso card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add one of the Basic White pieces to the inside.

Add the strips of Flirty Flamingo and Pale Papaya to the remaining piece of basic white. I decided to alternate varying widths of the colours - but you could arrange in any way. I stuck these down with liquid glue because that gave me the time to push the strips so that the butted up closer to each other. Leave this to dry fully and then trim down any overhanging strips.

Place this piece into your painted texture embossing folder (this is why you need to make sure it's completely dry - otherwise it may stick) and run it through your Cut & Emboss Machine. Bear in mind that you have two layers of card so you may need to adjust your usual sandwich.

Add this panel to the card front.

Whilst yo have the Cut & Emboss Machine out cut using the frame die in both Early Espresso and Basic White. Keep the frame from the Early Espresso cut and the oval piece from the White.

Ink up the floral cluster image in Pale Papaya, stamp off once and cover the white oval. Add the sentiment over the top and into the centre with Early Espresso ink.

Adhere both this stamped piece and the Early Espresso frame to the centre of your card front.

On a scrap stamp thre large and three small flowers in Early Espresso and leave to dry.

Once completely dry, take your Blender Brush and add a small amount of ink from your ink pad and add a little colour to each of the flowers. I coloured 2 small and one larger in Pale Papaya and the rest in Flirty Flamingo.

Using your blender pens is a great way to be able to colour, without needing lots of additional supplies like the blends or watercolour pencils - as much as they are great tools to have, the blender pens can really stretch your stash that little bit further. You do need to be careful not to touch the outline too much, as this will bring in some of the dark brown ink. Fussy cut or use the coordinating dies.

Add these around the frame using mini dimensionals.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - if you would like more details on the Challenge or have a project to enter, pop on over to my blog - Creative Colour Challenges
