Creative Colour Challenges #CCC187

 Good Evening Everyone,

I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

Beautiful Bokeh Sketched Butterflies Gift Box. The Project Share Project April 2025

 Good Morning Everyone,

Today I'm taking part in our Monthly Project Share Blog Hop. This month's theme is 3D, and I'll be honest - it's a while since I created a 3D project, so I really enjoyed being pushed to do it.

I've made a very simple 2" cube gift box with a lovely DSP lid. The Beautiful Bokeh adds a soft coloured lid and the Bright Butterfly along with the base adds a pop of colour.

I used Azure Afternoon card and Balmy Blue DSP for one box & then Berry Burst Card and Fresh Freesia DSP for the second. I'll show you how I made the boxes, showing you with the Berry Burst colourways.

Measurements (per box)

Berry Burst Card Stock

1pc - 6x6"

Basic White Card Stock

scraps

Beautiful Bokeh DSP

1pc - 4" x 4"

-----------------------------------

First take the 6x6" Berry Burst card stock and score at 2" on all four sides. Create tabs by cutting into the corner squares. Hold the card stock. Cut up the right hand score line, notch into both sides of this and the snip some of the length. Rotate card stock 90 degrees and repeat the cutting process, do this for all the four corners so you are left with your card looking like this.

Add tear and tape to all the flaps and adhere all the sides together to create the box base.

Now, take the 4x4" DSP and score at 1" on all four sides - edge the paper out from the left slightly, this will just help the lid for the base better . Cut the DSP to free the squares and notch in slightly. So it looks like this.

Add tear and tape to the tabs and fold in to create your lid.

On a scrap of basic white, stamp the Butterfly from Sketched Butterflies in Berry Burst ink and either fussy cut or use the coordinating dies then attach this to the lid of the box using dimensionals.

I decided to leave off a sentiment - but you could add one if you'd prefer.

These boxes are quick and easy to make and would work for so many occasions, and its easy to switch up the colours or even the butterfly for something more appropriate for the theme needed.
