Holding You Close Enduring Beauty Greeting Card.

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

I'm using the Enduring Beauty bundle again - I just cannot put it down! But today I'm showing you a really great technique to create a subtle background 'DSP' with the stamp set and a set of blends.

Measurements

Thick Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 4 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock

1pc - 5 3/8" x 3 3/4"

scraps

Basic Black Card Stock

1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

-----------------------------------------

Take the thick basic card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the basic black mat to the card front.

On the thinner basic white piece stamp the larger floral image from Enduring Beauty in Smoky slate to cover the whole piece. Once dry colour it all in with your Smoky Slate Blends. I simply coloured the flowers and leaves in the light and used the darker one to colour in all the background. This creates a really interesting but subtle background DSP if you like. I think using this principle you could do it with lots of different colours to get a variety of finishes, perfect for any occasion.

Add this to the card front, on top of the Basic Black panel.

On a scrap of basic white stamp the floral image again, but this time using memento ink. Colour in with a selection of Stampin Blends. Once finished cut out using the coordinating die.

Stamp the sentiment onto another scrap on cit out using the stitched label from the same die set.

Arrange both of these on the card front and stick down with dimensionals.

Here's a list of supplies I used in today's project, click on the images to head over to my online store Product List

Creative Colour Challenges - #139

  Good Evening Everyone,

As you may or may not know - I run the Creative Colour Challenges blog. Each week three Stampin Up Colours are randomly selected and I ask you to create a projects using those colours! Some week's are easier than others - but what I do find is that there's a lot of inspiration given from those who participate, so I thought that on a Sunday, once I have announced the Winner of the Week's Challenge over on Creative Colour Challenges Blog, I'd hop on over here and share the entries with you in the hope that we can give everyone some more inspiration, and I will link to those I can (as anyone can enter, you don't have to have a blog or a website), so It's also my chance to share there work and show some support.

You Mean So Much to So Many! Enduring Beauty Card. The Project Share Project Blog Hop - May 2024

 Good Morning Everyone

Happy Saturday! Today I'm taking part in the Project Share Project Blog Hop. You may have seen that each Thursday we each share some projects that each other have created - well on the first Saturday we also hop and create a project around a theme.

This month is colouring - and if you know me at all, you will know that I absolutely love to colour. I can sit for hours and get lost in colouring.

Today I've chosen to show a super easy and quick way to colour using blends. The Enduring Beauty Stamp set has this amazing floral outline image and although it comes with masks to blend, it's a great image to colour. If you look closely you will see some marks in the imagery which help you to get your shading correct too.

I simply followed to lines with a darker colour then filled in the rest of the image with a lighter shade! super easy, yet super effective. What do you think?

Measurements

Flirty Flamingo Card Stock
1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4" scored at 5 7/8"

Basic White Card Stock
2pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"

---------------------------------------------------

Take the Flirty Flamingo Card Stock and fold along the score line to create you card base. Add one of the Basic White panels to the inside.

Ink up the large floral image from Enduring Beauty in Memento ink and stamp into the centre of the remaining piece of Basic White. Add the sentiment in memento to the bottom left corner.

Take a selection of Stampin Blends and colour in the image. I used Shaded Spruce Dark and Granny Apple Green for the leaves and Flirty Flamingo light and Melon Mambo light for the flowers - I love the contrast of these colours together.

Finally ink up the small cluster (it's the solid image to in fill the small bud outline) and using 2nd Generation ink (stamped off Once) cover all the remaining white space around the image.

Add this panel to the card front and the card is done. I love how easy it is to use a few products and still get an amazing finished card. Don't get me wrong, i love layers and techniques and several components but sometimes less is more and this image definitely helps create that.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today - please continue through the hop to check out what the ladies have also created today. Jayne is up next, click the button below to check out her project.
