Good Evening Everyone,
I'm sorry that this series has been slow off the ground. I honestly have had the best of intentions but my crafting has had to take a back seat recently.
I struggled for time during the school holidays as the girls were home for 6 weeks solid meaning some fantastic quality time and fun memory making, but there's not much down time.
I have two daughters - Imogen who is 6 and Poppy who is 4. In September Imogen headed back to school and into year 2 and Poppy started reception. Poppy has additional needs and is non-verbal, so it's been a tough transition with a reduced timetable and what not - that added to the usual tolls of being an adult. During the pandemic Dave started working from home and has done every since, so he uses the space I craft in during the day - meaning I can only create in the evenings so that has made it nearly impossible to get some quality craft time in. I have managed do have a few cards here and there, so I will crack on with sharing those and hope I can get some sort of routine back! But, honestly, I'm not even sure what my routine can even look like - all I know is that I need to craft (for my sanity) and I want to craft, so I will make it work somehow - just needs a little adjusting. As I write this the girls are due to head back to school after the October half term, so maybe - let's see. Sorry for the long script - but I felt I needed/wanted to share where I am and that I am very much around, just sometimes not a visible as I would like.
Today I'm sharing the next card in my #maryscards series. I had to get super creative here because I don't have an oval die, and my freehand cutting really isn't brilliant.
I've used a few bit from here and there to pull this card together, the Flowers are from Gallery Blooms, the sentiment is from Beautiful Motifs and I've used the Bright & Beautiful DSP - which is now retired - I made this card over a month ago and it seems to have sold out in the meantime, But it took quite a bit of work to make this and It was too pretty not to share, right?
What do you think?

-----------------------------------
Take the Blueberry Bushel card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Adding the Basic White piece to the inside.
Adhere the strip of Blueberry Bushel across the centre of the DSP and then add to the card front.
On a scrap strip of Basic White stamp the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink and trim - leave a good 3/4" each side of the wording and then glue to the centre of the card front onto the card stock strip.
Now stamp a whole bunch of flower images in Memento ink and then colour in using Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight, Shaded Spruce & Granny Apple Green Blends. Once coloured in cut then all out - either using the coordinating dies or fussy cut. Then I cut away the larger cluster of leaves from one side. This made it easier for me to get a better oval shape - but keep hold of the cut leaves...
Now arrange all the flowers around the sentiment. I used dimensionals to stick mine down. I overlapped some flowers, and then added some of the cut leaves to fill it in a bit.
I absolutely Love how this turned out - and I'm sorry the DSP is now unavailable, but this layout and design would work with some many papers and colourways! I will definitely be trying it again!
